This is a really good series

I enjoyed every word of this story. All of the main characters from the previous books were included. Danielle was level headed, headstrong and a bit rash at times. But it was all in the name of friendship. I loved the way she stuck by Lily and never gave up on their friendship. I also loved the way she refused to be seen as a weak female when talking to Joe or Brian. Although, I hope in the future she and Joe can come to an understanding. This book also gave Lily more insight into Danielle and Walt's "ghost world". There were so many twists and turns in the plot that I didn't want to put the book down. I'm glad Danielle found an ally in the chief of police since her life seems to attract chaos. There were a couple of loose ends with some ghosts that I hope will be addressed in the next book. So far this is my favorite book in the series. I hope I can say the same thing after I read the next one.

Third Audiobook is a Charm

This is third and best of all in the series. Listening to the first two audiobooks helps set up the series but this one is great story. There is a dog napping, a murder with switched bodies and crooks galor you love to hate. One cop is agrivating. And, hope the author can get Danny to confide in Joe about her gift. Hope there will be more to come in this series.

Thoroughly okay and yet I soldier on

So this is book three in the series. If you've gotten this far, you know what to expect. This one in extra hilarious because the bizarro conversations that happen in the preceding books are really upped in stilting quality in this one because Facebook references are made. I am not persuaded the author knew what Facebook was prior to writing this. I enjoyed having Facebook privacy settings explained to me. However, I now must conclude Danielle and Lily are actually 90 years old.

Repetition is another hallmark of this series. The author does not skimp on replaying previous conversations and events multiple times. Is the author being paid by word count? Or does she assume we stopped paying attention and need reminding? The world may never know.

The narrator has a unique cadence that suits the unrealistic character set and dialogue. Somehow, she has made the phrase "to eat" a jarring experience. That phrase really gets some serious love in this book. It's impressive that no one ever goes to grab a bite or get some food. They always go get something to eat. Always.

Despite my very specific and unflattering remarks, the book is engaging and the narrator does a good job with consistent voices. If you like somewhat trashy murder mysteries (as I very much do) this isn't a bad option! If you stop paying attention for any part of the story, fear not - it will be repeated multiple times. That makes this a great background company audiobook. Will I listen to the next in the series? Almost definitely. I'm used to it now, and I'm a very lonely woman.

Good series, bumbling cops

I am totally enjoying this series. The author is very clever with her plots and I appreciate the creativeness. But she portrays the police as bumbling idiots. I understand some of that is needed for the plot, but this seems to be ongoing in every book so far. A real police person would not act so carelessly or show full contempt of a person who has done nothing wrong except be wealthy. OK, it's a stretch with the contempt part. Police can be jerks but not the majority, and they wouldn't last long if they acted the way these two act.

I would recommend the books in this series and try to ignore the police actions.

Yet I listened anyway

I enjoy cozy mysteries, yet I couldn’t recall why I did not have The Ghost Who Wasn’t (Book 3 in the series) in my Wish List. Had I trusted my gut, I would have thought twice about buying. Yet I purchased the book anyway. The narrator gets a grade of C, yet I think she will improve as she gains experience. The plot is interesting, with a few twists, yet I struggled when listening. The author surely had an editor, yet the editor did not pick up on the problem. Had the editor actually read the book, the problem would have been obvious. You are still reading my review, yet you are beginning to recognize the issue yourself. Had the editor read the book, perhaps this could have been prevented. To the author and editor: PLEASE do a word count for the use of the word “yet” and the phrase “had…” in these books, so I can listen to future books in the series. This is absolutely unbearable to hear repeatedly. Had you recognized this issue, it would be much easier to listen. Yet you didn’t.

Loved it!

I have been reading this series and find it very good. The narrator is a bit stilted but the story is good enough for you to forget that. Worth a read
