Like most sane people, student Alex Webber thought he was hallucinating - perhaps he'd consumed something bad at the party he'd been attending that night, or he was severely overtired. But when he sees the mysterious man following Natalie again the very next day, he can no longer disbelieve his eyes. Although she denies the man's existence, Alex sees her walking with him down a road in his neighborhood he's never seen before - and can't help but follow.

I celebrated when vampires were declared extinct. Those beasts had preyed on humanity for millennia, committing senseless, brutal murders. Like the rest of my colleagues at the Occult Bureau, I looked forward to a world where we could all sleep at night - where constant cover-up jobs were no longer required to keep the public calm and unaware. But the end of vampires wasn't the end of our problems. It was only the beginning.

There will come a day when love will mark you as a traitor. In a society where emotions are nothing and function is everything, Avlyn Lark is just trying to blend in. She's lucky to be alive, unlike her twin brother Ben who died when they were four. And she's lucky to have been taken from her biological parents and assigned to a Level Two family. But mastering her emotions? That's a problem, especially when a rebel bomb blows up a building right in front of her. Then on Configuration Day, Avlyn's official transition to adulthood, she starts seeing strange visions. And instead of being placed with a low-level tech company where she could hide away, she's hired by Genesis Technologies, the government firm that monitors every citizen. Now, instead of blending in, Avlyn fears she'll be exposed for what she really is.

Harry Potter has never even heard of Hogwarts when the letters start dropping on the doormat at number four, Privet Drive. Addressed in green ink on yellowish parchment with a purple seal, they are swiftly confiscated by his grisly aunt and uncle. Then, on Harry's eleventh birthday, a great beetle-eyed giant of a man called Rubeus Hagrid bursts in with some astonishing news: Harry Potter is a wizard, and he has a place at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. An incredible adventure is about to begin!

Stuck on Series
If you’re reading this you’re probably like me and already too far into the story to quit at this point. But I’m getting really tired of the author. She reiterates so many things. And what’s up with the numerous times she tells summaries about previous books? We wouldn’t be here if we didn’t read 1-3. Finally sometimes I really feel like I’m reading a school essay that has to have so many words. The author will literally say the characters feeling three times in different ways. None the less the story itself is intriguing and I can’t let it go.

I love the concept of this book but the author repeats herself like she had to fulfill a 10, 000 word paper. the heroine is a wishy-washy 1819 year old girl who's got more common sense then all the other people in the tower but yet she keeps getting in trouble.

Another incredible installment
This novel is another heart-pounding, tear-inducing, laugh-making, adventure that leaves you wanting to stand up and cheer...and immediately read the next book! I absolutely LOVED the twists and turns of this story.
My only very minor annoyance is that while the narrator is incredibly talented in every other way, she has an annoying habit of pronouncing "familiar" as "fermiliar" and "else" as "eltse." At first I thought perhaps it was a characterization thing. But then I realized ALL of the characters pronounced those words in that way as performed by her. Every time I heard those words it threw me out of the story. That said, the narrator's ability to perform so many different voices and convey true emotion in her performance is incredibly impressive.

Fun Read BUT...
Some things were predictable...Spoiler Alert: Rose's final appearance...duh. I appreciated the author's restraint on not overusing the word "palpable" this book. I didn't appreciate the author's lack of experience in how elevators work. Regardless of what universe you are in...elevators do NOT cause you to go weightless when they go UP....exactly the opposite.

I have enjoyed every book in this series cannot wait for the next one, the story is so exciting, you cannot stop listening, only one little down side sometimes she talks and explains too much, 🤨 only sometimes.
These books are ok for young adults no swearing, but be aware there is one instant in this book and a few books ago there was another instance where it got a bit steamy!

I found this one to be quite exhilarating for the most part, although I'll admit to glazing over some parts that got too detailed in description in the competition.
The development of Grey/Leo is interesting and I'm looking forward to seeing how that pans out!
