Riveting, an inspiration

I will curtail my review and choose brevity over long windedness. Derek Perkins has escalated his power of authorship in this, Book 4 of a masterful series.

I admonish all who relish high fantasy, Arthurian tales and days of virtue, courage and steel long since gone, read the Godling Chronicles and feel that special life of olden days once again.

Great series.

From book one to now I’ve gotta say I’ve enjoyed every moment. It’s my kinda story for sure. The wars, the good and evil, the love stories, the beautiful relationships, the amazing world that was created in this series, looking forward to the next one.

Epic Story

I've been a fan of this type of fantasy since a child. And one thing I've learned is that when you begin to actually get attached to characters and you can become a part of the story then that is a sign of a good book. Can't wait to start the 5th book!

Excellent story telling!

The story is great, there's conflict within the hero there's conflict within the villain, That brings such a real element to this fictional fantasy, Also the battle scenes are great the unity that you see on both sides Add incredible Context To the story , and let's not forget The performance by Derek Perkins With his narration and Brian D Anderson Story telling ability Home run for me!

Author lacks descriptive skills

There's virtually no description of the world the story takes place in. There's no world-building at all. I have no idea what the architecture looks like. I have almost no idea what the cultures are like outside of "elvish honor." Descriptions of duels and swordfights are all virtually identical, so much so that if you plucked the swordfights out of the books and randomly swapped out the names of the characters, you'd have no idea what fight was being described because they're all the same. Very overrated books. I would not recommend them unless they're on sale or temporarily available for free.

Instead, I'd recommend The Belgariad series by David Eddings, followed by The Malloreon series (which takes place after The Belgariad). The lore and world-building by David Eddings is much richer, and the audiobooks are narrated by Cameron Beierle. He's one of the best audiobook narrators currently alive... Every character with a name, both male and female, has a unique voice and accent - all voice acted by Cameron Beierle himself.
