Whining non-stop

I'm not sure what happened but this entire book is full of whining, whimpering, tear-filled characters who are mostly unlikeable.

I also think the author has never used a stopwatch because, like other books in the series, characters are constantly staring or contemplating for "a full five minutes". Take out a stopwatch and time how long 5 minutes is and ask yourself if you've ever stared at anything for a full five minutes.

It's a mostly boring story full of overly melodramatic characters.

Good story line except for the excessive wars

Excellent storyline but it was a little too much murdering of main characters. I liked the characters and their rolls they played. I was able to over look the things I did not like for example Alia coming in the picture from know where. I didn’t like how the bad guys was giving so much power but that actually kept it so interesting. I enjoyed how Gui had to develop into his power to fight against the enemy. Although he was a God he lived as a human and was very humble. He required the assistance of his friends to avoid getting killed by his foes that was stronger than him. I didn’t like the dying and coming back crap and how others would go into this other world to bring certain people back from death or near death but it was enough other scenes for me to overlook this and continue to enjoy the book.

I absolutely love this narrator. He’s always awesome. I deliberately buy books when I see him as the narrator.

Boring and Anticlimactic

This is how one can ruin a perfectly nice story. It started with book 4 and got far worse in book 5. Apparenty with the aim to stretch it to the limit, the author overstretched the story beyond what is still bearable to even the most enthusiastic reader. Long, mostly negative boring dialogues going to nowhere make it painful to listen to an otherwise skilled narrator trying his best but failing in imitating the voices of too many characters. Very disappointing. Should be renamed to "Madness of the Author"!
