Publisher's Summary

Sean Tennant and Molly Winter are living quietly and cautiously in Houston when a troubled, obsessive stranger shatters the safety they have carefully constructed for themselves. Sean is at a shopping mall when Henry Alan Keen, scorned by a woman he's been dating, pulls out a gun at the store where she works and begins shooting everyone in sight. A former soldier, Sean rushes toward Keen and ends the slaughter with two well-placed shots - becoming a hero with his face plastered across the news.

But Sean's newfound notoriety exposes him to the wrath of two men he thought he had left safely in his past. One of them blames Sean for his brother's death. The other wants to recover a treasure that Sean and Molly stole from him. Both men are deadly and relentless enemies, and Sean and Molly will need to draw on all their strength and devotion to each other if they hope to elude them. Thus begins a cross-country chase that leads from Texas to Montana, from Tennessee to New York to Michigan, as the hunters and their prey grow ever closer and, in a heart-stopping moment, converge.

A wickedly clever and exhilarating thriller, The Good Killer offers a sophisticated, breathtaking look at the extremes people will reach for love, greed, and survival.

Great Story!

I’m glad I gave this book a try. I enjoyed it far more than I was expecting. I really liked the main characters and I found myself rooting for them. The publisher summary is sufficient and I don’t feel I need to add anything. The narration is fantastic. Definitely a credit well spent!

Disappointed

I bought this book based on positive reviews. At best it is average. Not great and not terrible. Mostly, by the time I was 80% into it I realized that I didn't care at all about the way the book ended. Although the author did develop the characters, I didn't care about any of them. The story was not interesting. Sometimes a narrator can really punch up a story, but not this time.

GOOD, SAG, GOOD AGAIN

Excellent narrator keeps the story moving and brings the characters to life. Good story that captures one’s attention but sags in the middle with a lot of superfluous dialogue. Overall, a good audiobook well-worth a listen.

Stupid, rash, foolish behavior caused the problems

Sometimes the stupid things you do in your youth do come back to haunt you. Grow up.

What does the title mean? He's a killer, but a good guy? Ok, yeah, except for that very stupid, rash, thoughtless, illegal thing he did when he was no longer a kid that kind of ruined it for several people.

I enjoyed the skills and the action, but the story is thin on literary purpose.
The narration is okay, but everyone has the same inflections.

Very Different from Previous Dolan Books

I was kind of disappointed in this book because it seemed predictable and a little boring with too much minutiae yet not enough of the detail I would have expected. The storyline was good enough but the reader must suspend disbelief in a few instances especially at the end. The characters were not endearing, at all. The protagonist(s) were not very likable . They were hollow but perhaps that is due to weak character development. The narrator was ok but it was obvious that regional pronunciations were not a priority, i.e., Kankakee and Hagerstown. Interesting addition were the two law enforcement characters--not your typical types. It was too long for the entertainment value I derived.

Don’t, don’t, don’t miss this....I mean it.

Fantastic storyline, a thriller with interest and excitement from beginning to end and a conclusion that leaves you well satisfied. Narration is fantastic making you feel as if you were there with every character.
