Story
In Nick Offerman's view, we as a country can be doing a better job when it comes to decency. While most of the country has spent the last few years fighting about everything from politics to the existence of science, there are some things we can all agree about, like that we only really need one flavor of Oreo cookies. And that despite all the challenges we're currently facing, America can get it together if we can, simply, rise above it all, and admit that a lot what we're fighting about is actually pretty stupid, especially when told in Nick's signature comedic voice.

If there’s one trait that makes someone well-suited to comedy, it’s being able to take a punch - metaphorically and, occasionally, physically. Told with a healthy dose of self-deprecation, A Very Punchable Face reveals the brilliant mind behind some of the dumbest sketches on television, and lays bare the heart and humor of a hardworking guy - with a face you can’t help but want to punch.

Hi! I’m Seth! I was asked to describe my audiobook, Yearbook for websites and shit like that, so...here it goes!!! Yearbook is a collection of true stories that I desperately hope are just funny at worst, and life-changingly amazing at best. (I understand that it’s likely the former, which is a fancy “book” way of saying “the first one.”) I talk about my grandparents, doing stand-up comedy as a teenager, bar mitzvahs, and Jewish summer camp, and tell way more stories about doing drugs than my mother would like.

Publisher's Summary
At last, the full story behind Megan Mullally and Nick Offerman's epic romance, including stories, portraits, and the occasional puzzle, all telling the smoldering tale that has fascinated Hollywood for over a decade.
The year: 2000. The setting: Los Angeles. A gorgeous virtuoso of an actress had agreed to star in a random play, and a basement-dwelling scenic carpenter had said he would assay a supporting role in the selfsame pageant. At the first rehearsal, she surveyed her fellow cast members, as one does, determining if any of the men might qualify to provide her with a satisfying fling. Her gaze fell upon the carpenter, and like a bolt of lightning, the thought struck her: No dice. Moving on.
Yet, unbeknownst to our protagonists, Cupid had merely set down his bow and picked up a rocket launcher. Then fired a love rocket (not a euphemism). The players were Megan Mullally and Nick Offerman, and the resulting romance, once it ignited, was... epic. Beyond epic. It resulted in a coupling that has endured to this day; a sizzling, perpetual tryst that has captivated the world with its kindness, athleticism, astonishingly low-brow humor, and true (fire emoji) passion.
How did they do it? They came from completely different families, endured a significant age difference, and were separated by the gulf of several social strata. Megan loved books and art history; Nick loved hammers. But much more than these seemingly unsurpassable obstacles were the values they held in common: respect, decency, the ability to mention genitalia in almost any context, and an abiding obsession with the songs of Tom Waits.
Eighteen years later, they're still very much in love, and have finally decided to reveal the philosophical mountains they have conquered, the lessons they've learned, and the myriad jigsaw puzzles they've completed, in an audiobook. Featuring anecdotes, hijinks, interviews, photos, and a veritable grab bag of tomfoolery, this is not only the intoxicating audiobook that Mullally's and Offerman's fans have been waiting for, it might just hold the solution to the greatest threat facing our modern world: the single life.
Critic Reviews
“[M]akes you feel privy to a world that’s uniquely theirs, as though you’re sitting beside them at the kitchen table while they solve their beloved jigsaw puzzles.” (The Washington Post)
“Both partners come across as likable, grounded, unpretentious, and flawed enough to be believable...Those hoping that Hollywood couples are just like the rest of us, only maybe a little bit nicer and richer, should be pleased.” (Booklist)
"Readers are likely to enjoy the authors' company almost as much as they seem to enjoy each other's.” (Kirkus Reviews)

Not my favorite
Imagine you are having dinner with two people you don't know. They talk nonstop for over six hours about themselves and you never get a word in. Sometimes they forget they told you something and so they tell you again. They are eager to share mundane details of their lives like, "I always loved to read." They back up this information with stories of going to the library and checking out books. That is how I felt listening to this book. I admit, I only got about a third of the way through. There are some funny tidbits. If there had been some serious editing, this could have been a solidly hilarious 45 minutes of a book. The six hour version is only for diehard fans of these two. If Jane and John Doe had recorded this same book it would not have gotten published.

Sadly lacking
I don't know what I expected, maybe something a little funnier, a little more intimate, a little more "greatest love story?" It was just okay. The anecdotes and chapters were full of mediocre stories, though, the performance was like listening to a podcast, as if I was listening to a real time conversation with the two love birds, which I enjoyed.

Very Uneven
I think maybe I went into this with my expectations too high. I've seen them both performe in so many different ways and just generally love them together. And I think I still loved Offerman in this, but Mullaly was just not funny.something about her personality in this just grated on me. I think she's a fabulous performer and I love Karen Walker, Tammy 2, and other characters she's portrayed.

Hostess Twinkie equivalent of a memoir
If you are looking for a deep, quality "memoir", you are in the wrong place. Go listen to Trevor Noah's incredibly moving and insightful memoir instead. Then come back and listen to this fun book.
Megan Mullally and Nick Offerman do as much riffing off each other as read their respective chapters. That will either thoroughly entertain you, or annoy you. If you are annoyed, you are not the right audience for this highly funny couple.
If you are a follower of them on social media, if you love their TV characters, you will have fun with this light, junk food snack of an audible book.

Not the greatest love story ever told
Listening to the book was more like listening to a podcast, which was different but not necessarily unpleasant- the whole time I kept thinking did they go through their actual book and make notes on how they can make the story into a conversation? So it was a little distracting that they acted like they had never heard the story the other person was telling.
It’s very bland- they spend a short amount of time on how they met and fell in love and more time talking about their individual upbringing and stories.
At the end of the day I stopped the book with 1 hour 20 min left (I kept waiting for it to get good) and I returned the book for a credit I can use on something else.

Not sure if I like or not.
It's like listening to a podcast (2 people chatting), more than reading from an already written book. I wonder what's actually in the book? A direct transcripts from their hours of chatting? And this doesn't come with the photos download!

Meh
I like both of these actors but I thought this book was boring and only marginally entertaining. As one reviewer mention, none of the pictures they talk about for 2 sections are available. Descriptions of photographs are tedious and do not make for fun reading. You feel like you’re in the back of the crowd and can’t see the show. Tina Fey found a way to include photographs. Maybe she could offer some suggestions. The book is presented so you almost feel like you’re sitting with them and listening to a spontaneous conversation, which I enjoyed. They came off a a little insufferable. I know their lives are nothing like mine and expected that. In between the few funny bits, they came across as preachy and spoiled. I really wanted to like the book but it just fell flat for me. As a couple who says they enjoy audio books, I would have thought they would have had catered a little more to others who also enjoys them.

I wanted to love this book so much, but sadly it's not THAT book. It's basically a double biography with no real fun or juicy stories, just plain old life tales. There are some quippy moments between Nick and Megan, which helps with the boredom of this book.

Alright.
Nick and Megan read this in their own funny so to hear it in their own way of speaking with each other in a natural way is a plus. But what they're actually saying is not that interesting. Some family background, but mostly kind of small talk. It's fun to hear them talk to each other so lovingly and funnily, but you won't really learn much new about either of them.

Very funny, a good listen
Overall, it was a hilarious listen. If you’re a fan of either of these two then you’ll love it.
Whilst some of the chapters did leave me wondering if everything they said was entirely true, it all added to the overall comedy of the book. Unlike similar books, this one seems to have no particular narrative, focussing instead on points about their time together, discussing their childhoods and meeting each other etc, as well as some anecdotes about being in the public eye.
Overall, it’s a great book.

Love it!
If you are a fan of Megan or Nick you will enjoy this book! Feels more like they are having a conversation rather just reading a book.

Short but sweet!
Enough for a day of entertainment and an extra 'audio only' chapter. Worth a listen.

Romantic Comedy Realness
Delightful! The equivalent of watching a romantic comedy without the unnecessary drama. I'll certainly listen to it again at some point in the future.

Love them
They are so adorable together, and clearly have a fulfilling relationship. The story was a little superficial, but sometimes it's nice to have an easy listen. They're both very charming and funny.

Book is meh but gosh they're charming & funny!
Honestly I'd be shocked if I found out they spent a very long time writing this and even more shocked if they had a writer go over it/help them because it comes across as pretty spur of the moment BUT that is also what makes it a good audiobook.
If you are a fan of Megan Mullally and/or Nick Offerman and/or their romance, (which I'm assuming you are because why else would you be here?) then you will still really enjoy this because, well obviously, they are adorable together, they talk quite openly & honestly about their childhoods, how they fell in love etc and they do so in a very natural way that leaves you feeling more as though you've been invited to wine and d&m with your most charming and hilarious friends than as though they're reading pages of a book to a recording device.
Basically, If you're here for a charming night in with Megan and Nick then purchase, if you're here for a solid read then move on.

Love these two, pity there was no PDF
Cute story, felt like they were telling me about their lives over a 6-hour long dinner party. Just wished there had been a PDF of all the photos they referred to.
