Good book for people with anxiety and depression

This book was recommended by a therapist, I can't thank him enough for this recommendation. ACT resonated more with me than CBT.

This is a book for anybody who wants to live a happier life.

Overwhelming amount of information

Not what I thought it would be, this audiobook is packed with exercise after exercise he'll have you pausing and doing these exercises all throughout the book. So it's not your typical I can listen on the go, while driving or doing a task type book.

And with all the exercises it just felt overwhelming, after 6 or so chapters I tossed the towel in. This is a workbook to say the least. he'll refer you to his website over and over to download the worksheets/exercises.

overall I just couldn't get in a groove with this one.

Absolutely Fantastic

I don't think there is any way Russ could've made this 2nd edition any better. I've been familiar with his work for several years, both professionally and personally, and I believe this is his best refinement of ACT yet.
I only wish this were required reading in every middle school in the civilized world.
Thanks, Russ, for everything.

A life changing book when dealing with life’s struggles. I wish I had this in my life when I was younger. I don’t ever post reviews- but if this can save one life- it’s totally worth it. It gives you real life exercises. Just listen and practice what you learned. Wow!

Phenomenal

I loved this book. The author’s presentation was wonderful. There’s free “extra bits” as part of the book you can download from author’s website which are really helpful in doing the exercises in the book. I recommend this book to everybody. I think everyone will find something in this book to improve their life and cope better with life’s ups and downs.

Life changing book.

I wish I could buy a copy of this book for everyone. It is full of practical wisdom and psychological truth that can help anyone live a more fulfilling life, no matter their circumstances. I really appreciated that the author/narrator calls attention to the fact that this is an audio book and it is important to stop and periodically do the activities that the book describes. Please do the exercises. It makes a huge difference.
