Kristen Petersen doesn't do drama, will fight to the death for her friends, and has no room in her life for guys who just don't get her. She's also keeping a big secret: facing a medically necessary procedure that will make it impossible for her to have children. Planning her best friend's wedding is bittersweet for Kristen - especially when she meets the best man, Josh Copeland. He's funny, sexy, never offended by her mile-wide streak of sarcasm, and always one chicken enchilada ahead of her hangry. Even her dog, Stuntman Mike, adores him. The only catch: Josh wants a big family.

Certain they're fated to find each other again, Laurie spends a year scanning every bus stop and cafe in London for him. But she doesn't find him, not when it matters anyway. Another damsel in distress ( spoilers)
My expectations were really high for this book since it got ALL 5 star ratings. The first half of the book was really funny and cute and quite satisfying. But honestly as it progressed it just made me more and more pissed off. I cannot believe that STILL, in the 21st century, women need to read such deceptive fairytales about prince charming who rescues the damsel in distress! Haven’t we moved on at all from Cinderella and the sorries alike? Stories like these give women unrealistic expectations of the world and especially relationships. Of course he was super rich whisking her away and flying her across the world. Of course he was a celebrity. Of course he was unrealistically devoted and obsessed with her and so understanding and washing her hair while she was super wasted. Please...God forbid that he was just a regular guy, with a regular income. Or that she was more successful than him! What is wrong with any of that??

Surprised me
Don't know where this was recommended to me, but I am very glad I bought it. There is sadness, and sweetness - sometimes so much that your teeth hurt. But in the end, I felt it was all worth it. If you are saying the plot isn't new, or the ending was cliche, get over yourself. It has HEA and in this world we are living in THAT is as necessary as the air we breathe. Stick around to the author's comments at the end.

Truly a feel good story
This book made me walk around with a big stupid grin on my face while I listened with my earbuds in.
Funny. Sweet. Sexy. And heart felt. I will probably listen to it a second time and listen to the songs at the head of each chapter before I read the chapter. But I was too impatient to get on with the story to do it the first time. I really hope someone has a Spotify playlist of theses songs
Really loved the readers too.

Loved it!!
Do I have this book in three different formats? Yesss, I do. I preordered a signed paperback but started reading the ebook then moved to audio. I had some painting to do and didn't want to stop reading. It's narrated by Zachary Webber and Erin Mallon, which are both favorites of mine.
Abby made her mark on the book world last year with The Friend Zone. The Happy Ever After Playlist just ensured that she's not going anywhere. She writes with a realness like she's just a girlfriend telling you a story over lunch. I knew I'd love Sloans story. I wanted her to get her HEA so freaking bad. Jason was everything she needed and more. As you can tell from above, I couldn't put it down. I'm a greedy girl that can't wait to find out what she's writing for us next.

Characters were weak, no growth
I thought this would be a good listen, and it started out as such. It was funny in parts, time and attention were paid to developing the relationship...; however, growth of the characters was absent at the end. The ending was very anticlimactic. Values and self-worth were lacking for both H/H. I was hoping for a realistic, mature ending, where each character's growth could be measured by their actions and choices.

Cute Romance
What a sweet story of how a new romance can put a bounce in your step! Along with some ups and downs and twists and turns of course, Jiminez delivers.
Loved the format of alternating her voice then his voice along with the song references. The story is well thought our and relevant. Characters are well described and with background development which makes them all endearing. The performances are also most enjoyable. I read nearly all non-fiction so this was a deep departure but a welcomed, enjoyable romp.

second chance at love
New to me author, and I really enjoyed reading The Happy Ever After Playlist and adored the 2 main characters. I should probably read The Friend Zone now to get more on Sloan's background, but I loved reading about her second chance at love in this book. Jason was such an all round nice guy, you can't help but love him across the whole storyline and feel for him in the slightly more dramatic at times second half.
I borrowed the ebook from the library, but after reading it in one sitting I looked up the narrators and decided to get the audio........LOVED this audio, well worth the credit. Erin Mallon and Zachary Webber perform the characters, and I enjoy listening to both of them so great narrators & great story = happy listener :)

Heart Warming
I loved this book. I liked it better than the prequel. I hadn't read/ listened to anything like it. A new storyline. The characters were likeable and it gave an insight into the music industry and crap musicans must go through. The character Sloan was, simply put beautiful and Jason wholesome and genuine. The narrators were a perfect fit for the characters. While the ending was no suprise the journey they took was fun and engaging.

Nice entertaining typical romance
Like the Friend Zone I found this book an enjoyable easy and entertaining listen. It’s a typical romantic comedy and often predictable as ROMComs are but I seem to love the characters Abby Jimenez creates. Although Sloan and Jason’s relationship and characteristics seemed very similar to that of Kristen and Josh’s in the first book, it didn’t bother me a whole lot. Did for a bit however when they couldn’t seem to work out schedule or deal with any time apart when on the road. Anyway if your looking for a typical ROMcom that it’s enjoyable to read give this series a go. I loved it, I also downloaded the playlist on my Spotify

Binge listened to this in a day
Firstly, can we just stop for a moment of silence in appreciation for Zachary Webber? The man is a voice wizard... and btw, he does a brilliant Australian accent! Australian is hard for Americans to pull off.
I couldn't put this book down. I loved the sweet and dreamily romantic story of Sloan and Jason. Sloan is relatable, Jason is sincere and the way they meet and how their relationship develops is emotional and aspirational.
Erin Mallon has a lovely voice, but when she sounds like she's doing a Kermit the frog impression when reading male voices. It was a bit weird and made me wish ZW would step in.
This is a 10 star book.

Everything to make your favourite romance styles all come together and take you on an amazing ride. Just when you think everything is going to be okay, bam! Another bump in the road to happy days, but great storyline, amazing narrators and just enough angst to make you want more and more.
Can’t recommend this book more, loved everything about it. Thank you for such a fun, sad, wonderful story.

Fell flat for me
I should have realised that this book was going to irritate me when early on, the momentary conversation with Australians took place. The accent was APPALLING !!! From then on the female narrators "male" voice drove me nuts. Move on to the characters.. I love a good rom com but having male characters who are into hunting while the womenfolk cook in the kitchen was a huge disincentive to keep going. All through the book the women played really weak characters fulfilling traditional stereotypes. I wanted them to grow a backbone and stand up for themselves and just be modern women. Instead they made ridiculous choices that could only be described as downright self destructive. The earlier part of the book was certainly better than the last and thats the highest compliment i can give. Even the premise of the story made me mad.... the author references a newish psychiatric condition called complicated grief and this in itself is controversial. As a professional with some experience in the field I would suggest that people being incredibly sad two years into bereavement may not be all that complicated and gives an impression its not normal.
I just don't know why people loved this book... Im glad for the author so many people raved but for me, I only finished it because I paid for it.
