Publisher's Summary

The world-famous medium and star of Lifetime Movie Network's number-one rated show The Haunting of... tells her story, shares some astonishing, never-before-revealed details of her celebrity readings, and teaches you how to harness your own energy and access the world beyond our own.

When she was nine years old, Kim Russo discovered she had an amazing gift - she could communicate with the dead. Deeply skeptical, she denied her talent for years. But as she gradually reconciled her ability with her religious beliefs, Kim embraced who she is - and ultimately accepted her soul's mission as a voice for the spirit world.

Known as the Happy Medium for her authenticity, her warmth, and her honest, positive readings, Kim has helped people from all walks of life to connect with those who have passed on. Now this world-renowned medium demystifies the world of the dead for everyone. The key to understanding, she contends, is energy, which cannot be destroyed.

The Happy Medium interweaves experiences from Kim's life with some of the best, most astounding behind-the-scenes stories of her celebrity readings from episodes of her Lifetime show, The Haunting of.... In addition she gives you the tools to access the energy that is all around us, including the experiments and lessons she uses in many of her sold-out appearances and courses around the world.

Following her mantra, "Let them lead you", Kim shows you how to let the world of the dead guide you to greater understanding of life's biggest questions.

Packed full of information & things to try.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes, I would recommend this audiobook to a friend. There is so much information about what the psychic/medium world is in all its different aspects. Kim Russo does a great job of telling about her personal experiences & her own growth as a medium.

What other book might you compare The Happy Medium to and why?

I haven't read any other books by psychics or mediums. Despite that, as a book that gives comprehensive, specific information on a subject, this book is one of the best I've ever read.

Which scene was your favorite?

My favorite parts were the ones that explained what the psychic phenomenon is and the exercises aimed at helping an individual increase their own psychic skills.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

There were different points when Ms. Russo explained how her own religious beliefs (she is very ecumenical in her approaches to other religions) fit in with her psychic gifts.

Any additional comments?

This book is well written and Kim Russo does a great job of narrating it. So glad she did it herself. As a long time fan of her work, I think this book is an excellent resource for believers and non-believers alike. When I first watched her shows I was skeptical...now I'm just fascinated and want more from this author!

she had to go to jesus.....

I was all in until chapter 4 I think it was? This sounded like a good book until she had to drag jesus and God into it. you might find a place for spirits after death and you will probably be born all over, but there is no heaven like the Christian's talk about and there is certainly no hell. You don't get punished by some god when you die either. You will reflect over your mistakes but nobody will punish you like its said in her religion. If she is a true psychic she would know these things right? But no, she wants to know how her ability goes along with the bible. This could be an exiting book, but the jesus talk ruined it for me. I even dropped the second half of the book. Tpo34 ⁷here's no fun when you know she is a fake, because she should know what I am talking about here, and the fact that she doesn't and still think jesus is waiting for her? That tells me that she dont know squat about the life after death. if you want to know more, read journey of souls, a study in life after life. there you will see that this woman is wrong. I might check out the rest of the book since I have payed for it, but man the religious aspect of this is so wrong and it ruined my night! I was gonna be under my warm blanket and listen to this, but not if jesus has a big part in the story. Thanks but no thanks. I guess I'll try to skip ahead a bit and see if it picks up, but I just had to write down my big disappointment.....

Kim's Book answered so many of my questions!

I found Kim's audiobook to be very thorough, it flowed nicely and answered so many questions I've had for many, many years.

What she describes is consistent with what I've heard & read in other books on the subject of after life- which further convinces me that our soul continues on after this life.

I enjoy the audiobook version because she narrates it herself- to me, this makes the information being delivered feel more personal.

Top Notch

If you've seen Kim on TV... you'd expect the best... and she delivers.
The info on the spirit-world, guides, and the like, is confirmed using scientific life-between-lives regression as explored by Dr. Michael Newton. This is the real thing, and Kim does a beautiful job with the book, and the narration (and I'm a recording engineer... giving all here a 100).

Great

Great job!!!.Specially the last chapter. I never thought that you all have to go through all "certification " and" test" before you become a official channel. You need to be real good specially blind reading and all other challenges. I have read all books of Dr. Michael of" Life between lives", Destiny of souls and one more. I have Linda Dier of Guided and then Aleya Dao of 7 cups of consciousness and last but not least Deepak Chopra. But no one mentioned that they have to go through all exercise. I am happy that you mentioned in your last chapter. Thank you very much for doing all this for us.

My intuition tells me she is a fake

Arrogant. It would have been more believable if she has not said that she talks to Jesus and Mary. Really?
Also it left me with a sense of fear about the spirits. I did not finish the book it was making me sad rather than optimistic about life after death.

Fun book on mediumship

Kim's thick accent can be distracting when she's reading, but her heart is in the right place. She is very real and genuine in what she is trying to convey and the story of her life. A good book on mediums and medium abilities. The fact that she is certified by two different organizations makes her much more credible.

Couldn't quit listening!!!

I loved hearing Kim's story about how she came to accept her abilities and embrace them! She explains so much about psychic mediumship including exercises you can do to tap into your own abilities!
I recommend this book highly to anyone interested in this subject, as well as to skeptical believers, and skeptics!!

Don't like her TV show but loved the book..

I have to say upfront, I don't care for Kim Russo's tv show.. It's too dramatic and intended to be scarry, so I was hesitant to buy her book. But I did, for whatever reason, and I'm glad I did.. The way she narrates her book is full of humor and love. She explains how her gift started as a child, how and why she developed it, and shares a lot of exercises on strethening your own psychic gifts. Her book reminds me a lot of Theresa Caputo's book, with that same New York accent and humor. It was a good listen that I'll probably listen to again.

Informative.

worth a read, more of a biography than anything, but a good one, learned maybe 15-20 things I didn't already know, (the tidbit about John Edward, children who are electrucuted before 10 years of age and about her unborn daughter to name just a few). happy to have purchased, slow start/first few chapters, but necessary to understand the rest of the book as it's presented in a linear, story type style.

Even An Introvert Appreciates It!

From the very start of this book I was hyper aware that Kim & I are very different personality types. She appears to be ESFJ, and I am INTP. I don’t need a personality model to tell you that as opposites, if we were in the same room, we’d rub each other up the wrong way. Nor does Kim this when she says that communication with introverts can be like pulling teeth.

As an introvert, that is exactly how I felt at the start of the book. The “school teacher” narration style can feel condescending and bleedingly obvious at first. However, despite clear differences in expression styles, I found myself settling in for a cup of hot cocoa. Soon, I found Kim’s clear way of stating things to be memorable and refreshing.

Her confidence in subject matter is uplifting. No matter whether which “-vert” we are, that came out as one of the important aspects to this book. That Kim is vulnerable enough to communicate where she learned, and that this learning is ongoing is another key lessons. Hearing her stories really solidified this.

I wholeheartedly recommend this book.

In between the family story, there a souls journey.

Found some of the detail regarding what she had for dinner or what Aunty Nancy wore to church last week a little tedious, however maybe I just wanted more details on being a medium. That important information is found throughout the book and on that level, it's great.
