Publisher's Summary

King Solomon was wealthy and wise beyond measure. He could - and did - have anything he wanted, including many women from many lands. But for all his wisdom, did he or the women in his life ever find what they searched for all of their lives?

In this engrossing novel, you'll find yourself whisked away to ancient Israel, where you'll meet Solomon and four of the women he loved: Naamah the desert princess, Abishag the shepherdess, Siti, the daughter of a pharaoh, and Nicaula, the queen of Sheba. As you experience the world of Solomon through his eyes and the eyes of these women, you'll ask yourself the ultimate question: Did Solomon's wisdom ultimately benefit him and those he loved...or did it betray them?

the heart of a king

A great book on Solomon and I love the weaving of scripture into the story. It will drive you to the scriptures to read more of his life.

Hard to listen to

Volume variations make this very difficult to listen to. The reader often uses a voice that is so soft it can't be heard. Or, if you can hear the soft voices, then her normal voice is so loud it hurts the ears.

enjoyed book very much

I loved this story. I often wondered if Solo.on repented before dying. He knew the word of the Lord. The story line was good as was the narrator.

Movie Please

Story was wonderful. I would’ve asked for a more robust ending but it was still great. I can’t wait to see the movie (hint hint).

Exceptenial

I loved it from beginning to end. The characters really came alive for me, I was able not only to understand more of the story of King Solomon, but I was also transported back in time and was able to have a better understanding of a biblical story, as opposed to when I was younger. I was born and raised in a very strict Catholic household, but never interested in the bible. Now after reading a few of her books, I am not only enjoying my reading time, but I'm also learning so much in a way that can steal my attention. Great author and great narrator. Thank you for writing this book!

Wow

I knew the story of Solomon, but I guess I never really pondered on it and thought deeply about it. Thank you for helping me see and understand better.

A bit cheesy

I couldn’t get through the second chapter of the audiobook. The reader wasn’t very good and she adds to the cheesiness. I doubt it’s a bad read, it’s just not for more mature readers who enjoy more advanced writing. It would probably be a great book for a teenager!

Thought provoking

Thoroughly enjoyable, entertaining and illuminating. Thought provoking and challenging for anyone who has enjoyed the Song of Solomon and the book of Ecclesiastes- which happens to be one of my favourites. Jill brings Solomon to life in a meaningful way and describes events from his life and times in such a manner that the reader cannot but become immersed in the life of his court. Highly recommended...
