Narrator issues.

This is basically a story about how accomplished this author is. She the most influential, most popular, most sought out, and so on and so on… it gets extremely over done hearing her continuing running through her accolades. She does different(annoying)voices in the narration, which were often mood killers. Essentially, we coulda saved 6 hours by her just saying, “look in the mirror, truly believe in yourself, and give yourself a high five when you look in the mirror.” The end.

Fully actionable advice

Really enjoyed that all the steps are research driven and Mel explains the science clearly. Feels like easy to implement actions to create positive change and dovetails with her other programs.

You did it again girl! A book full of endless inspiration, motivation and stories and concepts that truly hit every single thing that's ever plagued and those that have truly delighted you in some way. A "must read/listen to", and a "must actually do" (high 5!). Incredibly relatable and such an amazing speaker, another 5 star audible, from the amazing "master of motivation" hahaha. 😉 😘 Well done!

Give yourself a high-5!

I've been a fan of Mel Robbins ever since I got the "5 Second Rule" audiobook a few years ago. I've heard all of her books but I haven't followed her podcast. I saw one of her TV Shows, I think it was the first one, I really can't stand TV (in general,) but I love her books. So I pre-ordered this one months ago, and it finally came out and I'm glad I was between books so I can take it on right away. I love the chapters on jealousy and guilt are really well done and chapter 14 was just AWESOME! She couldn't even read it without tearing up! Just totally lovely! Overall the book provides great advice mainly for being kind to yourself. Self care & love cannot be expressed enough, and she nails it and makes it very actionable! She is very entertaining with her f-bombs in the audiobook, a little tamer in the Kindle version :-) I will try high 5'ing myself in the mirror and see how it goes!

MEL hits a HOMERUN AGAIN!!!

You HAVE to read this book! It’s changed my life at 53 years old! Let me say, however, that the Audible version is the way to soak in all the scientifically backed knowledge by a motivational speaker! Of course you have to listen to it!

A great "How To Book" to get your life in order!

I have served in the US Army for over 20 years. and many of the tool Mel Robbins shared in this book are many of the same ones I have personally used to navigate during my career. Now as a small business owner, Mel has brought these tools and skills set back into my life. Much needed and right on time.

Life Changing- this book is gift to yourself!

I began high 5ing myself in the mirror prior to reading this book (follower of Mel on social media) I felt "dumb" and stopped. I binged listened to this book- amazing listen - in 48 hours. I have started high 5ing me again- and I get it! Often with tears and smiles of new learning love for myself (like taking my first steps at 54 yrs young!)- I am again high 5ing myself every morning. I also high five my heart many times a day--something powerful is happening within me. I walked into an abusive hostile job 2 days ago and resigned. What's next? I am not sure- but it is going to be incredible- because- all of the sudden- I am the author of my path forward, not a victim of my past! Will it be easy? no way! But- "I got this!" Thank you Mel- you gave me hope and my wings to fly. I write this with fresh tears and a high five to you Mel Robbins- for the gift YOU have given to me. Thank you!

Mel Robbins has done it again

Mel is one of my favorite self development speakers. She is authentic, real, and gives you REAL & ACTIONABLE advice. She covers every day problems and how we can conquer them with simple and easy tasks. She's also a great and engaging narrator for her book. She cheers you on and motivates you to try what she offers. Highly recommend!

I cried about the painting too

I'll keep this short, I loved it. I am glad I got it on audible as your voice delivers this so well, especially the part about the painting, glad you didn't edit the emotion out.
Thank you for all your work and I have signed up to start the challenge in the morning although I've been doing it in every mirror I see.
For anyone sceptical, this woman has never let me down with her advice. There are things that I perhaps have other opinions on but that is normal.
I said I was keeping this shirt hahaha...

Insightful and filled with honest,supportive tools

Even though I just completed the 4th chapter, the content of this book feels so honest and supportive.
I am the kind of person who need to understand the dynamics behind anything I learn new . By Mel explaining the science behind is helping me greatly to translate the content into actions and implement the tools in real life.

Mel is fantastic

I just love Mel Robbins. She is so real and speaks from experience. She is forward and no nonsense. You won’t be patronised or mollycoddled, but inspired and motivated. This title is just what you need, especially after the worst days of the pandemic, the isolation and the fear we experienced. I’ll never get tired of Mel. She inspires me every day.

I was really excited for another Mel Robbins book

I have never left a 1 star review before.

I could not relate to this book at all. Mel keeps on saying "you feel like you're not good enough", "you think you're too fat", "you think it's your fault"... blah, blah, blah.

If you negative speak to yourself this is probably the book for you. If you don't negative speak, you might find it repetitive, draining and depressing... and you might find yourself saying "actually Mel, I don't".

I hated this book by chapter 5, but gave it one more go. I am returning it at chapter 6.

I really wanted to enjoy this book, but I guess I don't dislike myself enough. And that's fine by me.

I am sure it will help plenty of people though.

I will look forward to the next book instead.

Best book, best performance!

I have laughed, felt thrilled, and cried my way through this audiobook.
I LOVE that Mel read it herself - it made it more real, and the part where picture finally finds its way to her, where she gets emotional - you can hear it, oh lord, I cried. Dear Audible, and every other audiobook publisher - please let the author be the one who narrates their own book - wow, it is SO MUCH MORE POWERFUL!
I am now using the High Five to my heart, and in the mirror - and I have taught it to my coaching clients.
This is truly life changing.

Mel has done it again!

I am a huge fan on Mel Robbins, and I often listen to her audiobooks through the night (simply because I read that you take in a lot when you sleep). With this book, I couldn’t sleep through. It was as though Mel was speaking to me directly and she has something so very important to tell me. Although I have listened to all of Mel’s audiobook’s several times. This is the first one I have bought the physical book for and I love it. There is some real raw emotion in this book and parts that really made me laugh. I had high hopes for this book and I was not at all disappointed. The book came to me when I needed it the most. Brilliantly read, great relatable content and overall

I’ve found a blueprint to my future!!

Just felt relevant to my life at this stage in time.

This will change your life. Seriously.

LOVE this audiobook. I'm writing this for those who are considering the audiobook or are on the fence. For those who are struggling for answers, for those who know that life could be better if they could just be given the right tools to back themselves and make it happen. Please, stop here, seriously consider picking this audiobook and give yourself these 7 hours. Mel's work is known for giving you a simple but profound habit to "do" versus "something to think about." And it's all backed with scientific research. This is the crucial difference of Mel's work compared to (pretty much) all others. As a gay Black and Asian woman who came out later in life, who lives around the world, has two University degrees, has had success but also struggled with crippling anxiety, I for soooo long sought out and longed for the right literature or practices out there to help me. When I found Mel's work some years ago I was at the point of desperation because I was working my ass off with self-help books and paying professionals that helped to a degree, often quite meaningfully (for that moment), but what I still needed was tools to deal with my sickening anxiety when life got still, quiet... when I was less distracted and when life throws its crap at me (as it does to all of us). At a low point, I was asked by a professional if I had a zest for life. That question upset me because I had it growing up but it was like it was taken away somehow, I felt so far away from that feeling (homophobia in all of its cruelty, shaming, and dehumanization when you're trying to come out will do that to you). It has been almost 4 years now and my life is viscerally different - even when the crap is being thrown. I am on Chapter 4, I've cried at least four times already because, without a shade of a clichè, what Mel is sharing here is so transformative and can change your life. This new High 5 habit, the newly discovered science behind it, along with the community that you can plug into to share your ups and downs with will be the support you need. So even for a long time Mel follower, this will fill your cup. Sending this out to the Internet for those who see this. I see you. You got this!!! And if you commit to the work, I do hope it helps you the way it has helped me in LEAPS AND BOUNDS. I can happily say my zest is back :). I hope the same for you. Much love, Faustina Agolley.

This book will change….you!

Mel Robbins is a genius! this book gives science based facts and stories on how you can rewire your thinking and reframe everything to start living a High5 life.
I loved the personal stories particularly those about how you your mind can lead you to what you want, and how you can high5 yourself towards it.
