Up to 40% of people consider themselves shy. You might say you're introverted or awkward, or that you're fine around friends but just can't speak up in a meeting or at a party. Maybe you're usually confident but have recently moved or started a new job, only to feel isolated and unsure. If you get nervous in social situations - meeting your partner's friends, public speaking, standing awkwardly in the elevator with your boss - you've probably been told, "Just be yourself!" But that's easier said than done - especially if you're prone to social anxiety.

Sub par Narrator
I feel the insight and tone of the book was lost on the monotone, substance lacking narrator’s voice.
It often felt like I was listening to a text book on metallurgy vs. a book about emotions and high sensitivity.
Now I need to just buy the book, so I garner all the rich lessons it holds.

Unscientific new age inspired semi-nonsense
I really don't understand the mostly overwhelmingly positive ratings for this book. It is a mostly unsubstantial, unscientific, generalising, exaggerated and uninteresting tribute/guide to HSP-people. I would possibly regard myself as HSP, and of course it is nice to hear that HSP people are gifted in many different ways, but after a few chapters it just became to much and I had to stop. When the writer states e.g. that even 20% of fruits are "HS" I kind of lost it. Not to mention energy flows between people and spirits, chakras, energy stones, the earth's visualization field and vibrational rates.Or factual flaws like mixing up empathic with emphatic... Phu... The book is a collection of many strange claims and ideas - and equal amounts of banalities. 3 chapters was more than enough for sure.
