Publisher's Summary

Leland

Growing up, I was taught that getting too close to someone would be my downfall. But I’ve proven that wrong now that I’m happily married to Jackson, the greatest man in the world. The issue is that mayhem always seems to find me (which is definitely not my fault), and this time, it comes in the form of a woman looking for her daughter. What starts as a simple missing persons case turns into so much more, forcing me to rely on my found family and others, including a muscly “bear” who will definitely not whisk away my husband with his irritatingly sexy accent—I mean, yes, I’m very focused on this case.... Jackson, don’t look at me like that.

Jackson

While Leland is “code potatoing” (whatever that means on his strange cheat sheet), I’m left questioning what he’s gotten himself into this time. At least he’s willing to let me assist him, even if he’s still positive that I should just “sit pretty” and let him handle everything. But with the girl missing, he knows we need to work together to determine whose game we’re playing because not everything is as it seems. Of course, when one gets involved with Leland, nothing is ever simple. But maybe that’s just the way I like it.

Contains: speed walking up way too many stairs while holding pointy objects, feel-better cookies that didn’t turn out quite right, Spanish that definitely isn’t Spanish, and lots of long-suffering people being swept up in Leland’s shenanigans once more.

More craziness

There’s a missing girl, there’s a con who’s conning a con, sooo many cons going on. Anyway, Leland has to see Lucas and Lucas gets in lelands head making him doubt himself, you know how Leland feels about feelings. Fun story and cassel is great!

Another great listen

The story is as ever engaging and a must have for a day of relaxation or long drive. Leland and Jackson and their antics as always leaving me in stitches. Absolutely adore the story, and the warm squishies it leaves me with. Michael is once again a pleasure to have murmuring in the ears, giving life and personality to each character. Each one is unique as he gives individual lives and voices. He takes on a full cast and makes the book 100x better by making funny situations hysterical.

Felt a bit rushed

The story as always is very good, but this time kinda felt a bit rush at the end. Also, it would be super nice if we can listen a little more of Jeremy and Castle’s relationship.

Love you Alice!

My First Audiobook

I love the story very much and would like to try audiobooks.
I'm not disappointed. It made me laugh as much as reading and already made me want to buy more.
(I did buy more after this first nice impression)
The narrator is really great as Leland's character.
I can imagine him with this voice.

Good story. Great narration.

If you want to read all the Hitman related books in the right order, check out the Former Assassin's Guide to Snagging a Reluctant Boy Friend before reading this one.

Once again the story is a bit convoluted, but it lays out so many opportunities for more ridiculous situations that Leland can get into. I enjoyed a couple of the side characters, and I hope we get to see more of them. I also hope that Jackson gets a little of his own back someday. Leland gets his way far to often.

The Hitman’s Guide to Righting Wrongs While Causing Mayhem

Loved it.
Honestly, listening to Michael rap… completely made my frigging day. Plus a Scottish accent and Leland’s antics, totally worth it.

Highly recommend.

Some of my favorite characters!!!

Leland and Jackson are absolutely some of my favorite characters. I love their relationship. They obviously love each other and have fun together. I very much enjoy Leland's antics and his friendships with the other characters in the book. I'm always excited when a new book in this series comes out, and I will definitely buy any that come in the future.

Oh what fun!

I always imagine Alice Winters laughing (often maniacally) as she writes these stories. Truly a fun ride throughout the whole series! Low angst, low steam, high hijinks and hilarity. I recommend this to anyone who enjoys silliness with their action and romance.

Great narration

The story was a jumbled mess and I had trouble working out what the hell was actually going on. The Leland /Jackson goofiness was cute and funny as per usual but it's like Alice Winters wants to write a comedy and stuffs a bit of a crime element in as an afterthought. The best thing about this book was hearing Leland's silly songs. They were lol funny.

Loved this

I loved the first three in this series, wasn’t too keen on Cassels book (I may go back to it again now though**).
I wasn’t sure what to expect but straight away I got hooked into it, Leland is such a great character and the narration is excellent.
By the end of the first chapter I just didn’t want it to end.
I’ve had a run of really awful/really meh books recently so to have this one was just so good, I enjoyed every minute.

**I did go back to it and thoroughly enjoyed it.

More Leland

Singing, a rap and a Scottish accent. This outing was so much fun. Leland never fails to cheer me up
