Story
John Wesley was an 18th-century preacher and a cofounder of Methodism. In his stirring sermon “Of Hell”, Wesley dives into the theology of eternal punishment for unbelievers. He focuses on the two primary forms of punishment: that of loss and that of feeling. Wesley preaches with conviction, making it no wonder that his words were an important part of the revivalist movement that reignited the passion of formerly lukewarm Christians.

Story
The works of John Wesley have been treasured for many years, and we are pleased to offer this 141-sermon set in three volumes. These sermons constitute the essential points of his beliefs. Many were published by Wesley himself while others were recovered from his manuscripts after his death. While listening to these, you will find that his writings are never dry but maintain a vigor of life about them while maintaining a scriptural balance. He strived to reach the everyday man and bring him a living gospel, and this intent is spread throughout his sermons.

The God of the universe - the Creator of nitrogen and pine needles, galaxies and E-minor - loves us with a radical, unconditional, self-sacrificing love. And what is our typical response? We go to church, sing songs, and try not to cuss. Are you hungry for an authentic faith that addresses the problems of our world with tangible, even radical, solutions? Story
Today, few people know exactly what the Scriptures say regarding the Holy Spirit, and the consequence is men trying to do things in their own strength. Sadder still is how one group denies the power of the Holy Spirit, while another group pursues the things of the Spirit more than they pursue Christ himself. Somewhere in the middle is the truth. This audiobook takes a close look at Scripture to see what the Lord himself tells us regarding his Holy Spirit and how it relates to us today.

Story
Leonard Ravenhill's call to revival is as timely now as it was when it was published over 50 years ago. The message is fearless and often radical as he expounds on the disparity between the New Testament church and the church today. Why Revival Tarries contains the heart of his message. AW Tozer called Ravenhill "a man sent from God" who "appeared at [a] critical moment in history", just as the Old Testament prophets did. Included are questions for group and individual study.

In this definitive biography, renowned Bible scholar, Anglican bishop, and best-selling author N. T. Wright offers a radical look at the apostle Paul, illuminating the humanity and remarkable achievements of this intellectual who invented Christian theology - transforming a faith and changing the world. For centuries, Paul, the apostle who "saw the light on the Road to Damascus" and made a miraculous conversion from zealous Pharisee persecutor to devoted follower of Christ, has been one of the church's most widely cited saints.

As Adolf Hitler and the Nazis seduced a nation, bullied a continent, and attempted to exterminate the Jews of Europe, a small number of dissidents and saboteurs worked to dismantle the Third Reich from the inside. One of these was Dietrich Bonhoeffer. In the first major biography of Bonhoeffer in 40 years, New York Times best-selling author Eric Metaxas takes both strands of Bonhoeffer's life - the theologian and the spy - to tell a searing story of incredible moral courage in the face of monstrous evil.

Content good, narration painful
This collection is an effective way to learn about John Wesley - who he was and what he believed. However, I found that I really had to concentrate hard to listen through the narrator's strong over performance.

A Good Read
This book is very deep in its Theological info and very good and informative but this Narrator is not the right person for the job. He has a strong voice and a good variety of intonations but he is trying too hard to use all his talents of speech and not enough attention to the content of the book. He makes it very hard to catch all the very deep detail of the work with his changing of voice and volume. Also there is some sort of background noise like people talking and outside noises, which are very irritating.

All-Most a Christian
I've listened to this over and over again for several weeks. This book is so much more powerful when listened to than when read. I have the kindle version to highlight some of Wesley's practical teachings. GOD's word overflows from the depth of John's passion and boldness for our LORD and His word.
The doctrine from this collection of sermons is not spoken much in churches of today but every Christian would benefit from hearing these words. Many of the denominations that grew from Wesley's teaching have gone their own way and even though they have carried with them some form of the Weslyan tradition, the power spoken through these sermons have for the most part been lost.

Deeper understanding of Wesley
As a Methodist struggling with the current divisions in our denomination, I’m seeking guidance from John Wesley. Some of these sermons were enlightening, some hard to follow, and some convicting. The reader did a good job reading, but I found his voice a bit annoying. Overall worth the read.
