Story
Warner spent his days like almost anyone else. He got up, went to work, answered phone calls in a call center, went home, spent time with his daughter, and went to sleep. Only to repeat the pattern over and over and over. Life was as mundane as anyone could ever fear it to be. Today was the day that all that would change. On this day, his daughter Maya would be nearly fatally injured, plunging Warner into a world of paranormal creatures, monsters, and magic he’d never known existed. The only consolation is that he discovers he’s not quite human, either.

Story
An existence spent being forced to kill others to satiate a monster. Where the only thing to look forward to was the blessed, if brief, period of time between paying that bribe. Except that very same monster is and isn’t Rene. It just happened to live inside his own mind and force him to do what it wanted - rather than him being an actual monster. That was Rene’s entire life until a fateful day changed that. A day that his career as a hitman for hire built on the monster’s needs will end. Where Rene will be forced to atone for his actions. To be held accountable and judged.

Gregory and his wives fought honorably and hard to advance to the finals, where their last fight was against the Eternal Flame. With their rigorous training and communication, they managed to defeat the arrogant clan, letting them stand alongside their novice friends as champions. The excitement of being the champions wasn’t the happiest part of their year, though. That came after the tournament, when all five of their friends—Nessa, Daciana, Victoria, Clover, and Ling—joined Aether’s Guard.

Sean was just waiting for his best friend to show up at the bar so they could play some pool. It came as a shock when the tall blonde man accosted Sean and demanded that he change seats. His refusal would change his life. When the fight ended, Sean found himself in the strangest meeting of his life. Odin, Archangel Michael, Lucifer, and Morrigan all vied for his soul, each offering different deals. Sean had to choose, so he chose to go with the goddess of Fate, Death, and Battle.

Trapped in the Sol Sector, a fractured humanity must unite, and Bruce never thought he'd be the man to sound the rallying call. The Toro invasion promises a war like no other, and with so many humans fleeing before the fight, the outcome appears grim. Bruce knows better than to give in to doubt. With Mercie and Bandit at his side, the forces of Sol will not only halt the oncoming tide, but teach the Toro a valuable lesson: Leave humanity alone or rue the day you tried to subjugate them.

Story
One of Jane Austen’s most beloved works, Pride and Prejudice, is vividly brought to life by Academy Award nominee Rosamund Pike ( Gone Girl). In her bright and energetic performance of this British classic, she expertly captures Austen’s signature wit and tone. Her attention to detail, her literary background, and her performance in the 2005 feature film version of the novel provide the perfect foundation from which to convey the story of Elizabeth Bennet, her four sisters, and the inimitable Mr. Darcy.

Publisher's Summary
Phillip had spent his life living by his mother’s code of honor. One she had instilled in not just him, but her household staff, her soldiers under her command as a general, and all his siblings.
One that called to the familial bonds and the importance of putting those above all else. Second only to the land and the crown.
If he was being honest with himself, Phillip valued that code of honor. It was something the Curis family was known for. An honorable military family led by a Duchess, Phillip’s grandmother.
That code, the honor of duty, is about to be tested in Phillip.
He and it will be put through the forge of conflict and forced to become either hardened, or terribly brittle.
On the day of his formal marriage agreement, Phillip’s family is called to war.
What would have been a celebration now turns to a swift goodbye as his family rolls into action. Sharpening swords, mending armor, and readying horses to fight for the queen.
Being sent off quickly as there was no time to waste.
Now Phillip will need to adapt to his new in-laws and family members, a mercantile family of great worth but no noble standing. Their marriage to him will rise them up to the lowest strata of the nobility, but still nobility.
At the same time, Phillip will have to navigate through the murky political waters of the new city he’ll now call home. As well as fight to carve out a role for himself that fits his desire.
All while hopefully growing to understand his wife - whom he had only just met. A young woman his own age named Alice.
Cunning and bright, she’s nearly ready to take over the family mercantile business as a whole.
Armed with his intelligence, his uncanny ability to read people, and his stubborn nature, Phillip has to become his own man, and define how his code will fit in his new life.
Regardless of what anyone else wants of him.
Warning and minor spoiler: This novel contains graphic violence, undefined relationships/harem, and unconventional opinions/beliefs.

Disappointing
This is the 7th time I have to re-add this review since it keeps getting deleted, shady.. very shady.
A review I saw elsewhere compared the premise of this book to a gender role reversal of Fostering Faust and I have found that to be an inaccurate description. There are only superficial similarities to Fostering Faust and if you come in expecting gender role reversal you will find it both exceeds and fails to meet expectations.
The book is well written but the pacing is slow and the character backgrounds are flimsy. The summary on amazon is extremely misleading. Nothing regarding the war, politics or nobility are really elaborated on. This is basically a harlequin romance novel that is light on romance and heavy on the number of characters.

it's a setup
First of I'll say that the description is very misleading. This book flips the gender rules of medieval society and filed a guy whose basically the prettiest girl in the land. That being said the story itself is well written and I find no fault in it, this an honest star review.
My major issue is how the book was presented as a medieval harem based around a suave man from a warrior family. This was presented as something geared toward the male demographic, then have an entire story on emasculated men. I'll be returning this book and requesting the summary rewritten as this just isn't for me; but i wish the best for the writer and congratulate them on the book.

Female Romance for the Male Listener
Let's cut to the chase and state the blurb makes zero sense, however the general feel of this book is as if one of the Victorian romantic dramas written for female consumption was written with the woman replaced with a man in a woman's role.
All in all it is quite interesting. The thought of if men were the naturally shorter and weaker of the 2 genders and how that would look in that era is wonderfully depicted within. Now this is mostly a book dealing with the interpersonal relationships the MC has with the women around him, though it does present a wonderful economic backstory to that premise. This book is quite unlike the Author's other titles so if you aren't looking for a book with little to no action stay away from this one.

wheelbarrow invented after swords and armor
Well acted by the narrator, the story was childish and was difficult to take seriously. I had to give up when the main character invented the wheelbarrow in society with a complex economy, trade guilds, and metal swords and armor.

Seriously Surprising Book With Evolving Emotions
This Book is definitely not your average Fantasy Story. Our MC is young and vulnerable to his changing circumstances. But yet he is strong and capable of thriving in unbearable and treacherous situations. His goals are simple but extremely important to the overall story. I was very impressed with this whole Book. We all were along for the ride as a young fledgling personality was molded by his life circumstances into a totally different but still very strong individual. I was unable to stop listening.

A unique view of a story
What would happen if the world flips? Rolls of men and women swap?
Well this is that story. The characters are well built and draw you in to where you connect with them.
I remember when the book came out and alot of folks complained about it. The story was not expected to go any further. However the book grew now with this audio version it looks like it will continue .
The story has a male that is supposed to be weak being sent off in a arranged marriage. He continues to turn his situations into plus for him.
I really enjoyed this unique view of this story and eagerly anticipated the second book.
Well done! 5*****

Beta World
Weird reverse gender role setting by an author who made his name on HaremLit. Men are weaker, smaller versions of women in a weird pride and prejudice setting that never really lends itself towards a harem setting(unless it’s the slowest burning one ever).
That said the story and setting are as always from this author well thought out and written, and narration is top notch as always. I just really don’t like the gender flip aspect, I won’t return the credit out of loyalty but I don’t understand the choice, MC isn’t even an outlier of his gender, he’s helpless, weak and beholden to the alpha chicks around him. He’s smart and adaptable, but it could’ve been a story about a smart chick. If it sounds like your jam then go for it, otherwise avoid.

And with the voice acting talents and skills of Andrea Parsneau who makes the characters and world come alive with the narration.
