Story
Sisters Sarah and Chloe inherit a house they could never have previously dreamed of owning. It seems too good to be true. Shortly after they move in, however, the siblings start to notice strange things: horrible smells, sudden drops in temperature as well as unexplainable sounds and feelings of being watched. All of that is compounded when they find a study upstairs, filled with occult items and a strange book written in Latin.

Story
A ghost town, isolated from civilization by miles of scorching desert, has become a killing ground. Blood taints the sand and the stench of rot hovers in the humid air. It’s a small patch of hell that Aleksandr Sokolovsky was born into. The son of the world’s most prolific serial killers, he yearns for a freedom he’ll never have. He comforts himself with the knowledge that death eventually comes for everyone. But he had never considered the Furies.

Story
In the fall of 1993, the quiet suburb of Harting Farms is shocked when children begin to vanish, and one is found dead near December Park - a great, sweeping expanse that is sunken below the streets and surrounded on three sides by vast woodlands, a place children believe is haunted. Newspapers call the abductor the Piper because he has come to lead children away, while kids whisper darker names for him in the school halls. Angelo Mazzone and his friends discover a link to the dead girl and take up the search for the killer.

Story
Renowned sculptor Allison Weathers doesn’t believe in ghosts. But when a tragic twist of fate leads her to the small mountain town of Dawson Mills, Tennessee, she soon learns that the dead don't always stay silent. Shadows begin to shift in the rambling, old Victorian farmhouse she’s purchased. Voices come from nowhere. She can feel the eyes on her. Paul Bradford, a contractor who is bidding the renovation work on the house, believes it’s more than just Allison’s imagination conjuring up the paranormal activity. Toni Harper, a reporter for the local paper, concurs.

Publisher's Summary
Rumor has it that the abandoned house by the cemetery is haunted by the ghost of a witch. But rumors won’t stop carpenter Mike Kostner from rehabbing the place as a haunted house attraction. Soon he’ll learn that fresh wood and nails can’t keep decades of rumors down. There are noises in the walls, and fresh blood on the floor: secrets that would be better not to discover. And behind the rumors is a real ghost who will do whatever it takes to ensure the house reopens. She needs people to fill her house on Halloween. There’s a dark, horrible ritual to fulfill. Because while the witch may have been dead... she doesn’t intend to stay that way.

Spooky, creepy good!
Not my normal (abnormal) genre, but I have gotten in a groove of spooky reads lately. One thing leads to another, you know. Anyway, this book was a jump from a previous book about a police investigation BY a cemetery to 'House by the Cemetery'. I almost didn't stay with it, but after a few pages I was hooked. It is the perfect campy, ghost story that is spooky and creepy good. A smorgasbord of horror under one roof in the guise of a Halloween haunted house. The characters are perfectly created in the style of every late night horror movie (remember Drive-Ins?). Give this book a chance if you aren't squeamish. It is well-written with a few surprises.
I wasn't sure that I was going to like the narration, but after a few pages, I really begin to appreciate the versatile and talented performance of Christopher Ragland. I would get so wrapped up in the story, I would forget that he was 'playing' all of the characters. Again, give this book a chance.

KAZ😃🇬🇧 Rubbish story 🤔
Started of kinda ok but rapidly went on to something that just didn't make any sense what so ever for instance people are being killed but nothing is done about it I mean c'mon you can't be serious it's ridiculous Really wish I hadn't used a credit on this terrible book 📖 The narration was ok but as far as stories go this wasn't my idea of a good horror 😋
