Classics

These Jack London classics stand the test of time. (They have also provided 1930s author Jack O'Brien with the foundation for his Silver Chief series. Anyone who reads both will note the strong plot and character similarities between the two.)

Warning: If you have difficulty watching tv commercials depicting the plight of abused animals, you will find the London collection tough listening. Still, it's a worthwhile experience.

Good narration by Arthur Rowan, except for his mispronunciation of several key words such as monosyllabic, equilibrium, lambast, gibbered, prodigiously, and my personal favourite, "gee", which Rowan pronounces with a hard "g" as in "go" when commanding the dogs to start. It should be pronounced "Jee". I'm afraid the dogs would laugh Rowan off the trail if he were to issue his mispronounced command.

Yes Yes Yes

I was assigned these books while a student. I should have thanked my teacher. I have enjoyed every Jack London story. The new Harrison Ford movie reminded me just how great the Call of the wild truly is. I’m glad I revisited. I highly suggest for anyone that loves animals or nature.

Jack London Collection

A long overdue reading of these adventure stories of Jack London. An animal lover these tales brought many tears as I listened to them. This is life at its cruelest, but life it is and death. Loved these tales.

An Excellent Collection, Excellently Narrated

Arthur Rowan does a masterful job reading the vivid prose of these literary classics. I am not a dog person, but these stories made me appreciate them a bit more. Recommended.

I was given this audiobook for free in exchange for an honest review.
