Publisher's Summary

"The Jealousy Cure unlocks the positive power of jealousy for happy relationships." (Foreword Reviews)

"Solid counsel for those whose relationships are plagued by jealousy and the individuals it targets." (Library Journal)

Could jealousy be a positive thing? In this groundbreaking book, Robert L. Leahy - author of the hugely popular self-help guide, The Worry Cure - invites you to gain a greater understanding of your jealous feelings, keep jealousy from hijacking your life, and create healthier relationships.

We’ve all heard tales of the overly jealous spouse or significant other. Maybe we’ve even been that jealous person, though we may not want to admit it. It’s hard to imagine anyone sailing through life without either having feelings of jealousy or being the target of someone’s jealousy. But what if jealousy isn’t just a neurotic weakness? What if it signals that your relationship matters to you? In short - what if jealousy serves a purpose?

In The Jealousy Cure, renowned psychologist Robert L. Leahy takes a more nuanced approach to tackling feelings of jealousy. In this compelling book, you’ll uncover the evolutionary origins of jealousy, and how and why it’s served to help us as a species. You’ll also learn practices based in emotional schema theory, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and mindfulness to help you overcome the shame jealousy can bring, improve communication with your partner, and ultimately make room for jealousy while also making your relationship more meaningful. You will learn that confronting jealousy in your relationship does not have to be a catastrophe, but can redirect you and your partner to build more trust, acceptance, and connection.

We often feel jealous because we fear losing the things or people that matter to us the most. With this insightful guide, you’ll discover how jealousy can both help and hurt your relationship, and learn proven-effective skills to keep jealousy in its place.

Will change you life

I've read countless books on insecurity and jealousy and none of them break it down as intracately as this book. If you feel like you get highjacked by the emotion of jealousy and often feel terrible after your actions, then this book is for you! It holds your hand and dissects every route cause of your jealous thoughts. It helps you not beat yourself up (becaure your reaction is truly a learned behavior) but take responsibility and control. Must read!!

Very good principles

It was definitely a great book. Lots of great principles for recognizing and dealing with jealousy. Also, it explained ways to help work through intense and constant jealousy. It also emphasized that feelings of jealousy will never completely go away, unless of course you stop caring about the person.

I recommend it!

Informative - could have been an article

There is some good information in this, but it rambles on its way to your ears. A tighter edit would help a lot.

Work in progress

Bought this bc of my jealousy issues with my existing relationship. This book is detailed and thorough in holding one accountable but at the same time gives you grace not to fight it but to deal with it in a humane loving way. I just finished and sent it to my fiancé to read in hopes he can see that I need his patience and help during this process.
Totally recommend it.

helped me out

This book really helped me understand my jealousy and gave me handy solutions. I do actually feel better and have improved my relationship. The only problem was the narrator was very boring at first but I soon got used to it.

Great Book easy to relate to

I enjoyed this book, it made me realise it's normal to think most things. I would read parts and come out wanting to better my self. I wouldn't say it gets rid of your jelousy obviously but it helps you to think about your actions.
