The Kingdom of God Is Within You is a nonfiction book written by Leo Tolstoy. A philosophical treatise, the book was first published in Germany in 1894 after being banned in his home country of Russia. Do unto others.....

I didnt like the narration, but the book in itself is worth it. Remind us that is Man who creates evil, and that is in us the solution to it.

Well-written thought-provoking but single-sided

My opinion about "The Kingdom of God is Within You" is that Tolstoy probably started from the position that communism outside of government control would be the most ideal and favorable structuring of society. He then took anecdotal evidences that supported his position, omitting evidences to the contrary, and coupled them with selected Biblical passages, taken out of context, to create this well-written essay to attempt to persuade readers to adopt his position, often appealing to guilt or shame that might be generated from the way he formulates his positions. This would be a good book to prompt discussion for a group of people interested in the open exchange of ideas, if such a group could still be found in our current society.

Incredible Work, but garbled fast-pace narration

Incredible work. But due to the face-paced, halting cadence and sometimes slurring speech of the narrator I recommend listening to at .85 speed to compensate. With that adjustment this reading is much more compelling and comprehensible than the other version available on audible. Highly recommended.

Great book--Horrible narration!

I have this as an ebook as well, and was following along with the narration. The narrator skips words, adds words, changes words, and is very hard to listen to! No complaints with Leo Tolstoy, but definitely this is a sub-par rendition.

Terrible reading made it very hard to follow

I had to slow the speed down to 80%. Awkward intonation and emphasis throughout. Disappointing.

Title and content do not match

The book is criticism of Christianity. Step by step various concepts of Church are criticised. I couldn't find what I wanted to hear about how Kingdom of God is within us

Confronting, insightful and thought provoking

Confronting, insightful and thought provoking. It's a shame that the vocal performance is so sloppy but if you know in ernest that you are not going to add this work to your mind via the eyes then, for the sake of its content, the recording is worth forgiving.
