Olive is always unlucky: in her career, in love, in...well, everything. Her identical twin sister, Amy, on the other hand, is probably the luckiest person in the world. Her meet-cute with her fiancé is something out of a romantic comedy (gag), and she’s managed to finance her entire wedding by winning a series of internet contests (double gag). Worst of all, she’s forcing Olive to spend the day with her sworn enemy, Ethan, who just happens to be the best man.

Publisher's Summary
A cosmopolitan title to get excited about in 2018!
Stella Lane thinks math is the only thing that unites the universe. She comes up with algorithms to predict customer purchases - a job that has given her more money than she knows what to do with as well as way less experience in the dating department than the average 30-year-old. It doesn't help that she has Asperger's and that French kissing reminds her of a shark getting its teeth cleaned by pilot fish. She decides that she needs lots of practice - with a professional - which is why she hires escort Michael Phan.
The Vietnamese-Swedish stunner can't afford to turn down Stella's offer, and he agrees to help her check off all the boxes on her lesson plan - from foreplay to more-than-missionary position... Before long, Stella not only learns to appreciate his kisses but also to crave all of the other things he's making her feel. Their no-nonsense partnership starts making a strange kind of sense. And the pattern that emerges convinces Stella that love is the best kind of logic...

Enjoyable and Sexy
This book could also be titled "Autistic Woman Has Sex," and sex is about 60% of the book. While sex is a key part of the development of the relationship and the scenes were well written and well performed, I admit there were one or two times I was waiting for the sex to end so we could get back to the plot. This is bc Hoang created two compelling characters here, and Stella herself provides such a freshness of perspective on falling in love. P.S. If you like this one, check out Courtney Milan's Trade Me.

It's a lot...
the story was really cute ,but theres a lot of descriptive sex, and not the creative kind. I've read other books with the "hot damn" description but this one basically the first half of the book is constant sex scenes. the second half isn't as bad, but it is a little excessive for my taste. If you like that kind of stuff, it's great, but I almost had to give up. narrator is awesome though.

Not only corny...
This book devolved in my opinion. It started out like a typical, semi-cheesy romance and ended painfully. The men in this book are just awful. Michael, in particular is maddening. Even after he finds out Stella is autistic, he makes everything about him, ignoring the fact that the way she experiences things is going to be different (unless of course they're having sex, then he is very thoughtful and considerate of her feelings). I am over the "I can't love you because I'm too messed up" narrative. Not for me.

Loved this!
This was a new author for me and a new narrator. Both were so fun with this book. I loved the characters and thought they were well rounded. The narrator made their voices come to life. I will gladly find both again and try more.
I don't speak Vietnamese, so unsure if things are pronounced correctly, but seeing the ebook and listening made me glad to know how to not pronounce things.
The secondary characters were so much fun and I am curious about possibly learning more about Michael's family.

I'd buy these two undies.
This book was a fun romance to romp through. I went in expecting it to be similar to The Rosie Project...that it is not! It's got some pretty vividly explicit sex scenes. Those don't bother me but can be a shocker if you aren't expecting them to pop up.
I also felt like this book portrayed both instalove and slow burn at the same time. Not being a fan of instalove at all, I greatly enjoyed the ways that also made this a slow burn romance.
It's definitely a quick one to get through and lots of fun getting there (expect several chuckles along the way!).

Just couldn't get into it
I'm surprised by so many positive reviews. I listened to about 4 hours and gave up. I didn't find Stella endearing or Michael's instant attraction believable. I'm not bothered by descriptive scenes, I just didn't care about the characters. I love books with flawed characters, but this missed the mark for me.

I don't normally read romance novels but because this was about an autistic woman I wanted to give it a try. There are some parts that made me blush but I powered through them and absolutely loved the story. I got major book hangover when I finished this and had nothing to fill that void!

Such an unusual and quirky book about Stella who has autism. She knows that she finds it hard to relate to people so she embarks on sex lessons with an escort, Michael.
It is funny, charming and so cute, that I am tempted to read it all over again! I loved all the side characters and the author did a great job on a tricky subject. Michael is delicious.
I thought the narrator was excellent too.

Not what I expected. Listened to the end but annoyingly obvious.
I thought this book would talk a lot more about the intricacies of living with Aspergers and be a bit cleverer about the story line. The story was sexually explicit but that was a bit boring rather than making it more exciting. I listened to the end as I did want to find out what happened but it’s a bit predictable.

Slow beginning, but keeps you interested!
I have had this book on my kindle for a while, but never got around to reading it, however when I found the audible version, I finished it in maybe 2 days?
The start was quite slow-paced for me personally (the pace may be okay for others), but the content was there and kept you interested. Overall I loved the book and was quite disappointed at the end - only because I had finished it!
The narrators of the two main characters fit the personalities perfectly!

not for feminists
it's degrading to find women represented as objects for men to "leave a mark on" with a big engagement ring, to call "mine" repeatedly as a possession, to flaunt like a pompous car or to defend with physical violence like one defends property. what's more concerning is that this is written by a female writer.

Terribly disappointed
I am perplexed this rated so highly by so many people. The story is farfetched, and the ending way too clean and convenient. The use of Autism as a plot device was poorly utilised, and clearly very overused. I finished the book in the hope I would learn the reason behind the hype, but alas, I was sorely disappointed.

Narration was amazing.
Until the characters started having sex I was spellbound. Then I needed to skip nearly whole chapters of boring sex to get back to a decent story. Sorry, it was just too much, detail by detail, sex. If its going to be a sweet love story with the bite of quirkiness that made it interesting, then leave it sweetish please. Sex is ok in small doses where it is integral to the story. Those other novels that have lots of steamy sex throughout several chapters have sexual tension and perhaps conflict between the characters to get you there with the characters. Otherwise you feel like you are just watching...eeww.

Bored
The book was a cliche- obvious and predictable.
The characters lacked any depth. Possibly if you are a teenager you may enjoy the sex scenes but they were really boring and I wanted to get on to the story which never seemed to happen. I returned the book 1/4 if he way through.

Hilarious, predictable plots, cute, and enjoyable
This book made me cry from laughing and some touching moments. It's a guilty pleasure for me. Quite accurate portrait of a typical Vietnamese family with their food and culture, but I don't think they got the autistic characteristics right. But I enjoy the book overall

Pretty poor.
A really simplistic and clichéd narrative. I'm not sure how adequate the represenation of a person on the Autism spectrum is. It comes across as if the author did the minimum amount of research required for it and includes this woman as a mere plot gimick. Some of the dialogue between two romantic leads is quite cute.

Charming and human, an absolute delight
The writing gave me a real feel for the characters and how they saw the world. Their complex and 3 dimensional portrayal made the story stand out vividly, and I was never bored.
It was lovely watching them both overcome their insecurities and fall in love.

A Book I Went Into Worried
I heard this book had a lot of a sex scenes and I went into the book worried that it was going to focus on that. But there weren't that many sex scenes and they weren't too vivid either.
I loved the characters and thought the two main characters - Stella and Michael - had great chemistry. The addition of Stella having Autism brought new light into a book that could've been to cliche.
The narrator was clear and did a great job at reading the book. I will be looking for more books read by her in the future.
