Story
Twelve-year-old Sophie has never quite fit into her life. She’s skipped multiple grades and doesn’t really connect with the older kids at school, but she’s not comfortable with her family, either. The reason? Sophie’s a Telepath, someone who can read minds. No one knows her secret - at least, that’s what she thinks.... But the day Sophie meets Fitz, a mysterious (and adorable) boy, she learns she’s not alone. He’s a Telepath too, and it turns out the reason she has never felt at home is that, well...she isn’t. Fitz opens Sophie’s eyes to a shocking truth....

Imagine it were possible to bring the characters from a book to life. Not like when you listen to an audiobook with such enchantment that the characters seem to jump off the pages and into your bedroom...but for real. Imagine they could actually climb out of the pages and into our world. Then imagine if those characters brought their world into ours.

The Vanderbeekers have always lived in the brownstone on 141st Street. It's practically another member of the family. So when their reclusive, curmudgeonly landlord decides not to renew their lease, the five siblings have 11 days to do whatever it takes to stay in their beloved home and convince the dreaded Beiderman just how wonderful they are. And all is fair in love and war when it comes to keeping their home. A modern classic in the making reminiscent of the Penderwicks series.

So many congruency issues
The series is good, and it shows the author has a lot of potential. But, there’s so many inconsistencies and congruency issues that it ruins the story.
The issues are so bad, my 7 year old daughter caught onto them.

love the final TLOS book
*spoiler alert.
This book is a gem in children's literature today. Chris Colfer's capacity to create a world of adventure and fantasy is brilliant. A lot of the action passages describing the colliding worlds in NYC feel like it is suited to a blockbuster movie. However, there's also a lot of emotional scenes in which characters become self-reflective or need to learn things through dialogue. The message of the final book is also very moral because it reinforces that what matters is who you are on the inside and not your appearance. (The whole point with the plot of being trapped in and breaking out of mirrors.) The final book is also refers to a main character's own struggles as a perfectionist, the reason why she is unable to accept her own flaws. It's a reminder of everyone's humanity - and the book is a well-established closure to the whole series, if not a perfect closure. My best wishes goes toward Chris Colfer and his team that are making TLOS adventures happen agasin in live action film.

Sad
Not going to lie. I'm a grown woman. And I'm shedding a tear right now. So sad this is over. I'll eagerly await the film series. Not since Harry Potter have I felt so sad for a group of books to be over. When I read, I see the images as if they were a movie. Chris Colfer's characters were fully alive in my imagination. Wasn't quite sure how he was going to wrap this all up and leave me satisfied, but he did. I can see the granddaughter's big bright eyes, wide as saucers seeing the book for the first time.
Thank you Chris.

Fairy tales with a twist
My 9 yr old son is sad this series has ended. He loves the original Grimm fairy tales and has enjoyed all the adventures the Bailey Twins have experienced since discovering their connection to the fairy tale world. He has listened to each book at least twice.
This series is good fun for the whole family. We listened to many of the books on a long car trip and they were well tolerated by the adults.
The author is the narrator. My main issue with his performance is the speed with which he reads. He sounds as if he had too much espresso before recording.

A keeper!
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Yes, but they must read the previous books first.
Would you be willing to try another book from Chris Colfer? Why or why not?
Yes. I generally enjoy his books.
Any additional comments?
This is my least favorite book in the series.

Very Good But Needs To Slow Down
I’ve listened to the Land of Stories series on audible twice now and almost the whole time I listened with the speed at 0.9. I recommend you do this because personally I struggled to keep up and found it a bit stressful at normal speed. Otherwise, great! Let down if the whole series
It’s been a long journey, and loved the twist and turns in each previous books. However this book is too plain and written like your typical junior fiction with only actions in there but all the mysteries that makes the series great are lost.
