What would have made The Laptop Millionaire better?

I don't know what I was expecting, but it wasn't this. Not only is this a sales-pitch disguised as a book, but also a direct rip-off of "The 4-Hour Workweek: Escape 9-5, Live Anywhere, and Join the New Rich" by Timothy Ferriss. Ironically, the author suggests taking someone's work, adapting it, putting your name to it then selling it online as one of get rich quick strategies.

There is lots of talk about how rich the author is and lots of reference to the programs, webinars, and other materials you can purchase if you sign into his website (membership site). The basic strategy is to sell something online by compiling an email database and regularly spamming them. Oh, and don't forget the up-sell!

The only person getting rich with this book is the author.

What didn’t you like about Erik Synnestvedt’s performance?

Mr Synnestvedt's reading of the book, while technically competent, makes listening difficult as he has the tendency to end every sentence with a slight whine. It is like listening to Truman Capote reading a business book - very distracting.

Information to be put into Action!!! GREAT Audio

Where does The Laptop Millionaire rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

This audio does not do the book any justice. You need to book for all of the information that was given or at least a supplemental pdf for what was discussed in the audio. AWESOME!

What other book might you compare The Laptop Millionaire to and why?

The Four Hour Work Week, it gives you so much information on how to take action to succeed in being a Laptop Millionaire and put it into overdrive.

Would you be willing to try another one of Erik Synnestvedt’s performances?

It depends on the information given, not too fond of Erik's speech, however the information was so outstanding it did not bother me as much.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

It would have been nice, however it was too much information packed in each part. I needed the break in between the two sessions to collect my thoughts.

Beginners' dreambook!!

I am a complete beginner in the realm of Internet business. This book was an excellent resource that taught me what all is out there and where to begin. I am forever grateful for the value you, your mentors, and your case studies have brought to my life. I will return to this book and this wealth of knowledge often this point forward and I look forward to sharing a testimonial.

Narrator Ruins This Book

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

No! The narrator makes the book impossible to listen to. He does this whine-thing with his voice in an attempt to sound sexy or something. It just sounds put on and awful. It really ruins the book because I could not pay attention to anything except his weird attempt at something with his voice.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

He is awful. He does a vocal thing at the end of every sentence that sounds like he is either trying to be sexy or is trying to make his voice deep. It's is so awful that I am going to return this book.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Made me mad that good information was ruined by an awful narrator.

This book Offers Up Some Great Content / Ideas

I purchased this book with the clear understanding that many books like this preach how you can make millions and untold riches. So as a Internet Marketer with over 30 years experience (well before the WWW) I thought I would listen and review. I was pleasantly surprised and found a great deal of information that I didn't know as well as ideas that got my mind thinking.

Firstly, many of the claims and figures seem a bit high but at the same time, I have had some incredible success with marketing books and epubs online that my own family has trouble believing. The same with social media, I have had some losers and some real winners and generated interest in products that I least expected.

Other than the above, I found many of the ideas, tricks and tips work and in many cases the author provides examples that seem low but reasonable. And he's quite right when he says you can make $20 a month on certain promos. Seems like a minor amount but it can be scaled up.

For the money I spent and my own past knowledge, this book is worth listening to from start to finish. You will get lots of ideas and you should try them all. Without being able to verify claims made, I still feel that a good 95% of what is recommended will work. One needs to be creative when you market.

Lastly, if a person didn't make at least $500 - $2000 in your first year with the advice provided, you need to go back and reread the book. The value is there but always take large dollar claims with a grain of salt and be willing to try the techniques yourself. I can say and be willing to put my own reputation on the line and say that there is ALOT of great info in this book.

ps. As a Canadian, I worked in California a few years ago and had many clients then selling books, consulting and other online products. Even the poor performing products were able to generate a surprising amount of income that comes in each month.

pps. A few years ago, I sold a book online called HOW TO MAKE $95,000 IN DESKTOP PUBLISHING. I produced it myself and ran 2 online ads for about $100. My first year I grossed about $30,000. Yes, this sounds liek BS but it isn't and to this day, I am still blown away with how I was able to sell as many copies as I did. That was my first experience with online sales and it was a great learning experience.

Very Powerful and Uplifting.

I would recommend this book to anyone. It was a great book, very inspiring, and just makes you want to get out there and start putting all this information into action.
Before I read this book, I've always wondered how people make so much money and it truly is amazing how easy it can be to make money.
I just need to know how to create a great website now. lol

Amazing!

this book provided amazing and very valuable ideas. I have been marketing for a few years and it was helpful and inspirational. This is a book that I will go back and read and listen to many times. An excellent marketing resource.

invaluable Information

Great book the information provided was invaluable. Would definitely recommend this book to other people. The author not only provides with motivation but with real case scenarios of what to do in the real world of Internet Marketing.
