Jacob Marlowe has lost the will to live. For two centuries he has wandered the world, enslaved by his lunatic appetites and tormented by the memory of his first and most monstrous crime. Now, the last of his kind, he knows he can't go on. But as Jake counts down to suicide, a violent murder and an extraordinary meeting plunge him straight back into the desperate pursuit of life.

Couldn't put this down
Would you listen to The Last Werewolf again? Why?
I am not in the habit of listening to any book twice but might make an exception to this one. Full of surprises, not my normal type of book but so happy I took the chance on this one
Who was your favorite character and why?
The lead character, so
Well narrated and written I almost believed he actually existed
Which scene did you most enjoy?
This book although not a comedy as per say made me laugh out loud on several occasions throughout the entire book. Great stuff. Also a bit naughty!!!
Any additional comments?
The narrator was excellent. I'm a crime and thriller reader and not to keen on fantasy books that are to OTT. However I took a chance with this book and I am so pleased I did one of my favourite listens. There are no negatives and I have been recommending it to all my friends. Just buy it and enjoy. !!!!!!

Very disappointing
Expected something very dark and gory for a werewolf story. Instead was given something highly neurotic and frankly quite boring. Very much didn’t enjoy, listened to the whole book to try and give benefit of the doubt, but wouldn’t recommend

Fictiom at its best
Beautifully crafted. A glorious mixture of compelling storytelling, brilliantly drawn characters and excellent plot twists told in a literary style which would shame some Booker prize winners. This is fiction at its best.

wonderfully preformed
the story is predictable and not that original but the narrative voice and written descriptions are the best of Glen Duncan's writing. The reading is very preformed Sachs has done wonders in bring the characters alive.

How can you ruin a book this great?
I have read this wonderful book several times and decided to buy the audio book for my partially sighted father, knowing that he would love it. However he thought it was awful. I was so shocked that I had to listen for myself. The reading is so monochromatic that he utterly fails to paint the brilliance of the characters and yet it's so infuriatingly dull that I can't even fall asleep I am so irritated by it. Please do not waste your time on the audio version and just read the book or get someone else to read it for you!

Brilliant
What did you like most about The Last Werewolf?
The strength of the story. I like the inner life of the main character. Such strong feelings and uncompromising story, well written
What was one of the most memorable moments of The Last Werewolf?
The point in the story where they visit the television producers house and at the end when Jake gets the good news.
What does Robin Sachs bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you had only read the book?
Never heard him read before but I will look him up on the Audible system
If you made a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?
When wanting the end became the beginning.
Any additional comments?
Very strong story well written - I have not heard of this author before but I will be looking for anything else he has produced.

Flawlessly written, gripping performance
Duncan is a magician with his writing, an author that truly makes you a better reader. Sachs draws you in and keeps you hooked on every word, a true talent. I would recommend this book to everyone, even if you are not interested in the supernatural.
