Money - investing, personal finance, and business decisions - is typically taught as a math-based field, where data and formulas tell us exactly what to do. But in the real world people don’t make financial decisions on a spreadsheet. They make them at the dinner table, or in a meeting room, where personal history, your own unique view of the world, ego, pride, marketing, and odd incentives are scrambled together. In The Psychology of Money, award-winning author Morgan Housel shares 19 short stories exploring the strange ways people think about money.

Publisher's Summary
Instant New York Times, USA Today, Wall Street Journal, and international best seller
Discover number-one New York Times best-selling author David Bach’s three secrets to financial freedom in an engaging story that will show you that you are richer than you think. Drawing on the author’s experiences teaching millions of people around the world to live a rich life, this fast, easy listen reveals how anyone - from millennials to Baby Boomers - can still make his or her dreams come true.
In this compelling, heartwarming parable, Bach and his best-selling coauthor John David Mann (The Go-Giver) tell the story of Zoey, a 20-something woman living and working in New York City. Like many young professionals, Zoey is struggling to make ends meet under a growing burden of credit card and student loan debt, working crazy hours at her dream job but still not earning enough to provide a comfortable financial cushion. At her boss’ suggestion, she makes friends with Henry, the elderly barista at her favorite Brooklyn coffee shop.
Henry soon reveals his “Three Secrets to Financial Freedom”, ideas Zoey dismisses at first but whose true power she ultimately comes to appreciate. Over the course of a single week, Zoey discovers she already earns enough to secure her financial future and realize her truest dreams - all she has to do is make a few easy shifts in her everyday routine.
The Latte Factor demystifies the secrets to achieving financial freedom, inspiring you to realize it’s never too late to reach for your dreams. By following the simple, proven path that Henry shows Zoey, anyone can make small changes today that will have big impact for a lifetime, proving once again that “David Bach is the financial expert to listen to when you’re intimidated by your finances” (Tony Robbins, number-one New York Times best-selling author of Money: Master the Game).

The book told me that I should return it
After reading this, I think my subscription to Audible is my latte and I should probably cancel it! All in all, this is a very short read and priced higher than necessary. Thankfully, I purchased it on sale. The story is super relative to anyone who earns a paycheck and the characters are semi-realistic. I appreciate the narrative for this type of life lesson and will most likely read more Bach books thanks to the interview at the end of the book.

Wow, and not in a good way. (Audible version)
I try to be careful picking books, and I almost never return a book. I think this is the second in 5 years that I've returned. I just couldn't keep listening. It was boring ,so very, very boring. I listen to books on my commute, and this was entirely too soporific. The combination of the narrator's monotone and the lackluster parable about an educated young professional woman who needs a smart older man to explain everything to her was terrible. I increased the speed because that often helps, but not in this case. I have read David Bach in the past, and have recommended a couple of his books to friends and family, but this one I'm sorry to say is not one I would recommend to anyone.

I love this book!
This book takes my favorite chapter in The Automatic Millionaire and delivers sound financial principals in an easy to read, easy to listen to story. You don’t have to give up coffee. It’s a metaphor. Small changes in the way you spend your money can give you financial freedom. The earlier you start the greater the benefit of time and compounding interest. Financial freedom is not being taught as public school curriculum so as you learn teach your children.

Good book, but not great book. I could tell you the entire story and the top lessons in about 10 minutes & you would be good to go. Good for someone who is very uneducated about money or who has no idea about anything to do with finances. Wouldn't necessarily recommend.

You can see yourself in this book
At first I wasn’t sure that I was up for a story sort of format, but I really liked the narrator and was pulled into the story quite quickly. It was easy to compare my self with Zoe and to wonder what if I had known all that at 30? And how can I start now at 55? Luckily I CAN start now and my kids can reap the benefit of these simple 3 steps too.
Now onto the Automatic Millionaire.

Simple thing like coffee, we normally drink every day $3.50 to $7.00 a day which means up to $49 a week and up to $196.00 a month if we don't pay attention. Great book just read it.
