Publisher's Summary

Just when you thought it was safe to go back into the teahouse....

Miss Charlotte Pettifer belongs to a secret league of women skilled in the subtle arts. That is to say - although it must never be said - witchcraft. The League of Gentlewomen Witches strives to improve the world in small ways. Using magic, they tidy, correct, and manipulate according to their notions of what is proper, entirely unlike those reprobates in the Wisteria Society.

When the long-lost amulet of Black Beryl is discovered, it is up to Charlotte, as the future leader of the League, to make sure the powerful talisman does not fall into the wrong hands. Therefore, it is most unfortunate when she crosses paths with Alex O’Riley, a pirate who is no Mr. Darcy. With all the world scrambling after the amulet, Alex and Charlotte join forces to steal it together. If only they could keep their pickpocketing hands to themselves! If Alex’s not careful, he might just steal something else - such as Charlotte’s heart.

Can’t wait for more!

I listen to a lot of fun little series, but this is by far one of my top favorites already. The narrator is excellent (also the Lady Hardcastle series by TE Kinsey) and the writing is hilarious. The main characters are very likeable and flawed and the side characters are entertaining.

A lot of fun, but not quite as good as the first book

The narration is perfection and the tension is delicious, but the story is not quite as much fun as the first book. Still a great listen though, and I look forward to the next!

very silly

This story is about the silliest one I have ever experienced. I can't recommend it, but I did laugh at part of it and did finally manage to finish it.

Best romance novel …

India Holton effortlessly combines genres in a whimsically and witty style that updates but is all her own. I have read these two novels over and over again whilst eagerly awaiting her next work! Well worth the time and credits.

Might be my new favorite romance series?!

I really enjoyed the first book and was not expecting to love the sequel even more because that rarely happens for me!! You definitely should read the books in order otherwise you won’t be familiar with many characters. This book was the perfect mix of adventure, romance and ridiculous hilarity!

For those concerned about it being “too dirty”, I thought it was definitely more spicy than the first - much less slow burn! There was quite a bit of innuendo but it was never too explicit. I thought it was perfect!

The narration was great and it was all around just a fun and heartwarming story. I’m so glad it ended with what seemed to be a setup for another book in the series!

I need more!!

I adore the cast of characters and the world they live in. I need more of these books! It’s all so delightfully quirky that you can’t help but be carried along with the story.

Confusing

I listen to audio books all the time and this was the hardest to figure out. I am on chapter 25 still not sure who is other then Alex and Charlotte l. No one else makes sense and why. I think thid may actually read better.
