Publisher's Summary

Palmer Lewis married a liar.

But just how deadly are his lies?

Shortly after marrying her soulmate and the birth of their son, the lies begin.

First, it's the phone calls, always held in secret, always deleted from his phone.

Then it's his odd disappearances and the little nagging voice in her head screaming: Something is not right.

When Palmer follows her gut - and her husband - she catches him with an unfamiliar woman in the park and in his biggest lie thus far. Learning from her past, she hatches a plan to protect herself and their child. But when her husband and son disappear one afternoon and don't return, Palmer must retrace her steps and dig deep to discover the truth before it's too late.

Who is the mysterious woman her husband lied about meeting? Who knows what happened to her family? Who's lying?

In this twisted psychological thriller, the better question is, who isn't?

Worse than the worst Lifetime movie

This is truly terrible.

The writing is completely amateur and all over the place. Within just the first chapter, the MC muses about her situation, saying...I have no idea what happened or how I got here...I know exactly what happened, how I got here and who did it...I don't know what happened or how I got here...then finally, I remember exactly what happened and who did it! Huh? That makes no sense. The book seems like a very rough draft written by an adolescent and published without an editorial review.

The narration is flat with no clear distinction between characters. The story is predictable and stupid.

very disappointing!

Sloppy. Reads like a first draft. Clichés. so many Clichés, exaggerations. Sounds like a novice. I love this author, but what happened here?

One of her absolute best!

This book was fantastic. It was about to take over The Arrangement for my favorite book by Kiersten Modglin until the last 5 minutes. I don't want to give any spoilers but, I'll say that when the husband makes the choice he makes at the very end felt completely out of character. It made the entire character become someone she hadn't perorated him to be in a way that didn't make sense. But, at the same time, anything is possible and people can shock you.

With that said, it's a great listen snd I loved every bit apart from that. Melissa Redmond did a wonderful job narrating!

Worth all the credits!

I was really surprised by this book. Overall, it was a great book. The story line was consistent and I was immediately hooked. I did not want to put it down.

At least it’s short

I think this must have been one of those “let me just get something out there really quick until my next big best seller is ready.”
No spoilers, but the breastfeeding scene was so weird, and you really do ask yourself, who is the real psycho(s) here. So it DOES keep you guessing, and I would categorize it as a true psychological thriller, so those are pluses. However, it is just a ridiculous story with flat narration.

Loved the book

The beginning was a little confusing... didn't pull me in immediately but the more I got into it, I love the book and highly recommend. Some of the southern accents are absolutely terrible, but that is easy to look past. Could have done away will the race card being pulled in chapter 25.. but other than that, great story line. There were points in which I wanted to reach into the book and personally kick "this other persons" ass!! I don't want to spoil anything so just read the book!

Dumb

This may be the dumbest audiobook ever listened to. Dumb story, Dumb characters. Dumb actions and I could not have cared less about any of the people in the story

Predictable

If you read/listen to a lot of these types of thrillers, this is one is very predictable, and rather boring. The narrator does a good job, but the story is weak, and the main character is annoyingly clueless.

Good

This story was good and kept my interest the entire way through. I was a little unbelievable how much the main character does just 2 weeks post c- section but a good story over all. Good narration also.

good except

I enjoyed the story. The racist lecture was uncalled for and had no place in the story. It was almost like the story was paused while the author ranted.

Loved it

Great length, engaging storyline (although I thought Cat’s character was a bit flimsy), fab ending!
