Publisher's Summary

In The Light Beyond, Dr. Raymond Moody, the world's leading authority in the field of near-death experiences, investigates fascinating new case studies.

Common patterns emerge from these reports, such as meeting loved ones in the afterlife, being surrounded by a bright beautiful light, reviewing one's life, and being able to view scenes on earth while outside the body.

Moody looks at various aspects of the NDE, including children's reports and those of other researchers in the field. He also examines the positive life-changing effects of NDEs.

If you are new to this you may like it…

I love Dr. Moody's work and talks. This was a bit disappointing to me personally as it seems a rehash and please, Dr. Moody, stop using "he" as the sole pronoun. I know you have been an academic for a long time and this is how you were taught, but this was a Victorian usage decision and we are now in 2020. This also lacks the humor and charm of Dr. Moody's talks.

Dr. Moody does take a stand in this book that he hasn't thus far and that is appreciated.

There is nothing new here for me, but there may be for you. I am looking forward to Dr. Moody''s and Dr. Lisa Smartt's book on the language patterns of the dying.

Scientific orientation, but understandable

I read Moody’s original book in 1976. I’ve not had an NDE myself, but a patient I was consulting with, and the subject of NDE came up. He said “It’s hard to put into words, but I’ll say this: if it happens to you, you’ll never be afraid to die,” in the NDE, something I’ve not heard commented on as evidence, is if it’s not real, why would you only imagine seeing family who have died? Why wouldn’t you imagine a living loved one?

absence of fear

Obviously, ecm experiences contain a msg that may be used to improve life.... if one's able to decypher it. As The Beatles -and many others- have said... 'love is all there is'. Man with all its science is incapable of even getting closer to interpreting an ecm. interesting book.

Amazing, must read book!!!

I am familiar with Dr Raymond Moody's work, watched the documentary of this book on Prime videos. It's not only that he tells the stories in a magnificent way, but Raymond Moody also pays attention to opposite arguments, compares to why NDIs are not a mental Illness, neither side-effect of a drug nor mind playing tricks etc through evidence of abundance of cases proving his point. Also narrator Tom Parks has got a very pleasant voice to listen to. This book was so interesting, that i finished it within few days. Now onto " Glimpses of Eternity".
Thank you Dr Raymond Moody for you incredibly invaluable input into the science of death and dieing. I am a huge fan of you and Elizabeth Kubler-Ross. She has a seminar on "Is there life after death?" It is available here on audible. Very intriguing. These books certainly have helped me to cope with the anxiety of the death of my loved ones and looking into my own mortality. Great great book!!!

Love Dr Moody's work so it's a winner

I read Life after Life in the 70's and I've been fascinated by NDE's ever since. I like his manner, the narration was lovely and easy to listen to.
Good to get new information and ideas, I found it very enjoyable.

Important addition the the study of NDE's

Although the accounts of NDE'ers are vital this book does a good survey of other aspects rounding out the subject nicely. Little out of date now but nothing that undermines the argument for the validity of NDE accounts.

A good book to read

Well researched and professionally put together arguments. A good narrator helped but the book flowed and I felt that I had gained much by listening.
