Publisher's Summary
Penguin presents the unabridged downloadable audiobook edition of The Little Book of Hygge, written and read by Meik Wiking.
Denmark is often said to be the happiest country in the world. That's down to one thing: hygge.
'Hygge has been translated as everything from the art of creating intimacy to cosiness of the soul to taking pleasure from the presence of soothing things. My personal favourite is cocoa by candlelight....'
You know hygge when you feel it. It is when you are cuddled up on a sofa with a loved one or sharing comfort food with your closest friends. It is those crisp blue mornings when the light through your window is just right.
Who better than Meik Wiking to be your guide to all things hygge? Meik is CEO of the Happiness Research Institute in Copenhagen and has spent years studying the magic of Danish life. In this beautiful, inspiring audiobook, he will help you be more hygge: from picking the right lighting and planning a dinner party through to creating an emergency hygge kit and even how to dress.
Meik Wiking is the CEO of the Happiness Research Institute in Copenhagen. He is committed to finding out what makes people happy and has concluded that hygge is the magic ingredient that makes Danes the happiest people in the world.

A great introduction to the Hygge lifestyle
After hearing so much about this book, I have always wanted to read it, but I also know that books like these (lifestyle) will take me forever to finish it. So an audio book is a great alternative to get the information you want and finishing it in an efficient manner.
Meilk Wiking's narration is clear with a very soothing voice. There are not that many chapters so you can go through it quite quickly. I have already listened to this book twice and will listen to it again soon.

Fantastic!!
This is a fabulous book on happiness and how to enjoy the simple pleasures in life. Absolutely fantastic! At first the reader is a bit wooden but dont let that put you off. You get used to the voice, but the book itself has made me happier than I have been in ages. Get into it!

Enjoyable short listen
An enjoyable quaint easy listen to prompt simple and modest practices in our ongoing quest for living well. Great points to note and practice particularly as we enter the Autumn/Winter season in the UK I shall be making everything Hygge!
A nice insight into Danish culture and lifestyle making me want to take a trip to stock up on candles, blankets, some good quality hot drinks and inviting my loved ones round.
Will listen again for inspiration as I implement the authors suggestions :)

Beautifully written book
I didn't have any expectations of this book as it was recommended from a friend and I didn't understand the concept of Hygge. However after listening to this on a lazy cold Sunday afternoon next to a roaring fire I really enjoyed the ideas, with lots of inspiration on how to make life warmer, more engaged and happy. Left a lovely fuzzy feeling. Enjoy!!

Any additional comments?
Insightful book about what makes Danes happy and what we should aspire to do more in our daily life to achieve that happiness. The author is not preachy and merely narrates the Danish way of life with useful advice and self-deprecating humor.

Warm and resonates
This is a great book that resonated heavily with me although I live in Australia, the core of Hygge is wonderful. It is expertly read, very easy and calming to listen to and has inspired me to pursue more Hygge in my life.
My only disappointment is that the recipes and illustrations aren’t included as downloadable PDF’s.

Get Hyggely
If you could sum up The Little Book of Hygge in three words, what would they be?
This book is wonderful. I smiled through so many sections and even laughed. Wiking has done a superb job. I wasn't completely convinced by the trial but so glad I read the reviews and listened to the whole thing - spectacular. He is honest, funny and gets down to the truth of what hygge is, why it's important for all of us and has made me want to adopt it not just into my vocabulary, but into my way of life. He has managed to make a book about hygge, hyggely :D.

Very lovely sentiment but a little repetitive
Amazing narration and the book gave me a sense of hygge to listen to on busy and usually stressful commutes, however - 4 star rating as some of the content is a little repetitive and perhaps to some, the Danish way of living is not possible in their home. All in all, I have been wanting to read this book for several years but decided the audiobook could be more calming and I am not disappointed with my decision.

I had a thoroughly 'Hygge time' listening to this.
Took this on an interstate (red eye) flight recently and thoroughly enjoyed it. The social studies were really interesting and listening to all the discriptions of Hygge things made me feel so cozy and inspired. will listen again.

Great narrator but repetitive
Love the narrator but I found the book quite repetitive. The last chapter dealt with the topics I thought would be discussed in more detail throughout the explanations of hygge. Interesting to learn more about Denmark and happiness too though. I love how the Danes view taxes and how their welfare system works. That was very interesting too.
