Publisher's Summary

At Omicron 9, Professor Ludendorff unearthed artifacts of the fabled Old Ones. During a meeting in a subterranean chamber, a portal appeared and aliens attacked, perhaps to kidnap the professor or grab the artifacts. Maddox’s new intuitive sense gave him just enough warning. He saved Ludendorff and rushed into the portal to forestall any more assaults - and thus began his lonely odyssey from one strange place to another.

Maddox eventually found a Builder potential unit, and they resolved to work together. But the unit betrayed him and then Victory, taking them to a system where Maddox had already been, one behind an impenetrable barrier and possessing an ancient power.

Maddox and Victory were outmatched and outgunned, facing aliens wielding super-science weapons. But if the captain ever wanted to see his wife and daughter again, and stop Lisa Meyers from her ongoing genocidal plans against humanity, he was going to have to solve an eon-old mystery and defeat every extraterrestrial bastard that got in his way.

The Lost Barrier is the 15th book in the Lost Starship Series.

Terrible

Beginning of the series was good but the Stories getting worse and worse, now it's getting mystical and and religious. Boyet was great but should think twice about another one

Good story but...

I've enjoyed every one of the lost starship books.

But why the author feels the need to force feed his very much apparent creationist views into the story with one logical fallacious statement after another is beyond me. You just stop and think...why is this in there? It totally destroyed the flow of the story and added no value to the story at all.

Expectations met.

I really enjoy this ongoing series, some are better than others, but are nevertheless entertaining. This story was of the better than most variety, but seemed rushed at the very end.
The expectation that we might delve deeper into Gallians people is definitely something I'm looking forward to in the next series.

FINALLY over...

One of the most repetitive and disorganized Sci-fi series I have ever had the displeasure of listening to. The one and ONLY thing that kept me listening, was Mark Boyett. He can turn even a horrible story line, into something interesting. Sadly, I am one of those that can't stop a series halfway through, and I feel compelled to follow through to completion. I don't know if the author is planning to continue this series, and frankly I don't care in the least. Book 15 was the last available at the time of this review, and it's FINALLY over in my eyes.

Love and religion

Main character (captain maddox) can no longer psychologically
Bear to be separated from his land locked wife on earth for even a month without severe emotional distress affecting his judgement, this suggests it was used to move the story to conclusion while excusing
All of his actions.

Interesting to the End

A great series’s, I thoroughly enjoyed the audio books in this series, many an hour under my headphones. I think maybe a further book in the series would see Galion home
