Good story

I have listened to a lot of Susan Lewis books and like the characters especially Andi Lawrence - for some reason in this book she had developed an American accent not sure why but found it a bit off putting

Oh dear...

What a load of twaddle. I kept listening to the end as I was sure that it would improve but sadly it didn’t.

Another great read by Susan Lewis

I enjoyed this but I wished they'd stuck to the narrator used for the previous books at in this area. I just didn't relate to the characters in the same way because of it. In particular the voice used for Andee swung between American and the local accent.

Intriguing crime but

Good crime plot and great suspense through the novel that kept me listening, but REVOLTING depiction of class relations, with the lower classes practically thanking wealthy older man for sleeping with their vulnerable teenage daughter - also gender roles and relations all a bit 1950s, though it is set now; felt a bit sickened and depressed by it at the end, and wish I hadn’t allowed myself to be hooked by the plot.

Not up to her usual standard.

Overall I liked the story, but the frequent repition of phrases like 'cocktail me up', especially when referring to wine (not cocktails) was cringe-worthy. I'm normally a big Susan Lewis fan, but in places this felt quite forced. Hopefully just a blip and the next will be back on track.

fab story terrible narrater

loving this story as I have with all susan lewis books but finding it very hard going because of the narrater. she reads it like a child learning to read. when she does characters she's OK but the actual story part is so annoying. please learn to read it naturally and not so stilted because her actual voice is perfect for book reading

Too long and drawn out

Overall story line is reasonable however this book is much much longer than necessary. Plot is far far too slow moving in my opinion, nothing happened until at least 2 hours in.

Terrible narration and weak story!

The narration of this book is so stiff and amateur it’s actually cringy at times.

Story was weak and quite boring compared to Susan Lewis of old!
