Publisher's Summary

He's doing what he can to save the Prince Regent's life...but can he save his new marriage as well?

Evan Eldridge never meant to be a war hero - he just wanted to fight Napoleon for the future of his country. And he certainly didn't think that saving the life of a peer would mean being made the Earl of Whitelock. But when the life you save is dear to the Prince Regent, things can change in a hurry.

Now Evan has a new title, a manor house in shambles, and a stranger for a bride, all thrust upon him by a grateful ruler. What he doesn't have are all his memories. Traumatized as a result of his wounds and bravery on the battlefield, Evan knows there's something he can't quite remember. It's important, dangerous - and if he doesn't recall it in time, will jeopardize not only his marriage but someone's very life.

Excellent story but annoying narration

This story was very enjoyable, full of intrigue and heart. However, sadly the narration was full of melo dramatic whissspers, long “sss’s” and what almost sounded like a lisp at the end of most words. It was very distracting and I wished I had the paperback rather than audio version. I only finished the audio version for convenience and because the story was so well done.

A different narrator would have made this 5 stars

The story was excellent and well written. The plot one of the best I've read. However, the narrator is very hard to listen to. Her modulation is way off and she drops her voice to where you lose the words . It's a testament that the storyline was so well done I continued to the end in spite of narrator.

Sweet and Innocent

NO sex, NO heat. It's a platonic relationship. Nice story but too sweet for me.

I am generally a huge fan of reader Mary Sarah A. She does very hot and steamy romance as well as sweet Christian novels. She is American.

I totally understand the dislike of her reading in this book. Consonants are held on single syllables, especially s's and t's to make them 2 syllable words. Remember the old song "Needles and Pins" where the singer said pin-za? This is it.

Everybody's a victim!

The story is a good one but the constant self pity is tiring. Although I'm not sure if the whining would have been so obvious if it weren't for the narrator's lisp. It really is distracting.

Lovely

An extremely well written love story. The ending ties together nicely at the end. Looking forward to the next book in the series

Great book awful narration

Honestly I’m still within the first several chapters of the book. The story itself is very well written and I definitely want to continue READING IT. But I will need to get it on kindle or an actual book because the narratoring is so bad. Every time I start it up I cringe trying to get use to her voice again. It’s especially terrible when narrating herself as the main female character. A few times she lets her voice read normally for a few words and there is some relief from the annoying cadence but then she gets right back into the horrible way of speaking! I really suggest this book is redone with a new narrator.

No one says no to the Prince Regent

I've read this book which I loved so much I decided to revisit it through audiobook. The narrator made this a really struggle for me. I had to speed this book up just to get through her super whispery voice that you sometimes couldn't understand. I hated the way she said the chapters too. I love this book and series so it pained me to give this book low marks here.

Narrativ

The narrator is beyond awful, cooing, stilted and completely off in her Reading of the Lines.

Christian romance

this book is strongly Christian. I enjoyed the story but found the narrator too sugary. worthy of a listen and I've chosen to listen to the whole series but won't be buying any more of this author because of the religious content.
