Publisher's Summary
Brought to you by Penguin.
The brand-new series from Zoe Sugg and Amy McCulloch.
Illumen Hall is an elite boarding school. Tragedy strikes when the body of a student is discovered at their exclusive summer party - on her back is an elaborate tattoo of a magpie.
When new girl Audrey arrives the following term, running from her own secrets back home in America, she is thrown into solving the case. Despite her best efforts to avoid any drama, her new roommate Ivy was close to the murdered girl, and the two of them can't help but get pulled in.
The two can't stand each other, but as they are drawn deeper into the mystery of this strange and terrible murder, they will discover that something dangerous is at the heart of their superficially perfect school.
Welcome to the Magpie Society.
One for Sorrow is told via the alternating first-person perspectives of the lead characters Audrey - written by Amy - and Ivy - written by Zoe - with the narrative jointly plotted by both authors.

I AM SHOCKED. You have to listen!
I had never read Zoe’s books before because they seemed to be more for kids. But when I heard she was coming out with a different type of book with a friend, Amy, I was intrigued. Let me tell you if you chose to just read this book instead of listen YOU ARE MISSING OUT. The production of this audiobook is amazing. Especially when they introduce the podcast. Chills ran down my spine!!! Can’t wait for the next one.
SPOILER ALERT KINDA. Read ahead if you dare.
The only thing I really wish was different in terms of storyline was I wish we hadn’t found out about who was producing the podcast until the end or even not at all. The secret podcast was so gossip girl and really my favorite part of the book until we found out who it was. I also found the book was going too fast at times and I wish they had taken their time doing things. But that just might be me! I love listening to 16hr books!

Addicting read!
I managed to listen to this book in ONE DAY! I honestly didn’t intend on doing this, but I couldn’t stop listening! The story really gripped me! It felt like there was an element of cozy familiarity but then again I haven’t read anything like it in a long time. The narrators did a great job, the plot was something I couldn’t completely figure out ahead of time and it kept me interested the entire time!
Fantastic read, really cannot wait for more! Loved, loved, LOVED! Congrats Zoe and Amy!

This was my first audio book
I downloaded audible to listen to Zoe and Amy’s first book together. The story had me hooked. I thought the audio book was fantastic and it felt more realistic when listening to the podcast as opposed to reading it on text in a book. The story was very good, clever and although I guessed things v early on, probably due to my constant watching of murder tv shows etc, I think most people will enjoy this. I can definitely see it being a film or a tv show. It was very good. I was naive to think I would find out who killed Lola in this book however the plot was extremely interesting and I cannot wait to read the next. I assume will be called two for joy.

Decent story
The establishing of the story and characters is great but it takes a while to get good. I would have preferred to feel more of the characters' emotions'. I felt like they are quite 2 dimensional and lack that emotional touch. The story has great potential but needs a bit more speed and more climax.
I so far never listened to an audio with two actors voicing two characters which at first I liked, but then it got a but frustrating especially when both actresses were doing the same two characters in different accents. I just don't understand why the hassle of having two actors when they're both going to do the Eng/American accent.
