Story
More and more people are beginning to realize that we are being manipulated and lied to. We are denied access to secrets that shouldn’t be secrets. Our politicians obfuscate, deny, and outright lie. No one knows whom to trust. The nightly news is being replaced by carefully orchestrated propaganda. Our iPhones are monitored, as are our laptops and our landlines. As for social media, that too is ripe for spying by men in black suits. No wonder, then, that the last few years have seen an incredible rise in conspiracy theories about deceptions and cover-ups.

Jeffries spares no one and nothing in this explosive new book. The atrocities of Union troops during the Civil War, and Allied troops during World War II, are documented in great detail. The Nuremberg Trials are presented as the antithesis of justice. In the follow-up to his previous, bestselling book Hidden History: An Exposé of Modern Crimes, Conspiracies, and Cover-Ups in American Politics, Jeffries demonstrates that crimes, corruption, and conspiracies didn't start with the assassination of President John F. There is little more terrifying than those who hunt, stalk, and snatch their prey under the cloak of darkness. These hunters search not for animals, but for the touch, taste, and empowerment of human flesh. They are cannibals, vampires, and monsters, and they walk among us. These serial killers are not mythical beasts with horns and shaggy hair. They are people living among society, going about their day-to-day activities until nightfall. They are the Dennis Rader's, the fathers, husbands, church-going members of the community.

An Interesting and Fun Read.
The title intrigued me so I bought the book! I really did not know what to expect and I was pleasantly surprised! There were a lot of facts presented that were previously unknown to me. The alert Levels at the end of each "conspiracy theory" story was quite entertaining and spot on as far as believability. Take a chance on this one!

Gave me a headache
This is a disappointment. It gives very little information before the annoying alert blares out to signal a transition between two 4-minute chapters. When I realized that it will probably blare every few minutes in this 12 hour book, I stopped.
Either don't buy this book, or get some aspirins because you will get a headache.

great content terrible narration.
Would you try another book from Jon E. Lewis and/or Peter Marinker?
The saliva sloshing around in the readers mouth makes listening to this book absolutely unbearable.
What was the most compelling aspect of this narrative?
This book contains the entire content of the Mammoth book of missing persons and mysterious deaths and I presume also the same content from all the other mammoth books by the same author.
Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Peter Marinker?
anyone else!
Could you see The Mammoth Book of Cover-Ups being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?
Sure why not.
Any additional comments?
Could have been greatly improved by some basic production values.

Disinformation = Disservice 🍋 Shill Alert!
Jon Lewis? A worthless hack exploiting the conspiracy realist market for profit. He leaves out key facts that would otherwise make the case about what's really going on in this warped world of ours. He shamelessly ridicules truth at the listeners expense. This title is accurate as the book itself is a cover-up of the very theories it's purporting to expose. Swill from a Shill. Beware of his other books they no doubt have the same derailment from the path of truth. You'll find far better info on the web for free.

Covering Up The Cover-Ups
Having listened to The Mammoth Book of Cover-Ups I knew I had to write a review for both the beginner and the expert of conspiracy theories and facts. Let's begin with one for the serious Conspiracy Realists out there. Many will understand the compulsion of those involved in the business of global conspiracy to place hidden messages in plain site of the 'gullable human populace'. Within 5 seconds of revisiting the details of this book on the review page, an anagram of the Author's name literally jumped out of the page. It would be remiss of me not to include this in the review. Jon E. Lewis (the inclusion of an initial is often a clue to the use of an anagram) becomes 'No Jew Lies'. For the 'Coincidence Theorists' out there, of course, it's once more just a coincidence. I am neither agreeing or disagreeing with such an analysis, but for a book about conspiracies, this 'coincidence' is obviously important to include in any review.
I have to say that if you are new to conspiracies - and even if you are an old hand - this book is a good 'Conspiracy 101' summary of basic facts pertaining to basic conspiracies. However, as far as discovering what is a conspiracy fact and what is a conspiracy fiction, look to the experts (all those who are named in a ridiculing way within the text). At first, I was willing to give the author the benefit of the doubt, but it soon became clear that this book is an extreme partisan political book at best, and at worst, a text-book orchestrated cover-up of the true crimes against humanity by the elites.
The author clearly shows extreme bias against Right wing politics. For disclosure purposes, I am a vegan pacifist, so I hardly fit into that camp. He also tends to side more with conspiracies against Catholic institutions (still only moderately) and against conspiracies involving anything related to Jewish linked institutions and government linked institutions (at least those associated with a Liberal Globalist agenda). Furthermore, if you have seen any of the hundreds of testimonials on YouTube regarding Hollywood, CIA, and Secret Society child abuse related to mind control, or you are keeping an eye on the current exposure of Satanic Ritual Abuse and busting of child-trafficking rings linked to the UN and other corporate institutions of globalism, his coverage of SRA (Alert Level 2 - out of 10) may even make you a little angry.
So, as somewhat of an expert in conspiracies, I can say that this book will show you exactly where this book's constructors want the public's understanding of the hidden truth to be stopped and held. It's as though they know that the populace are speedily waking up to 'the conspiracy' and that they have to manage it rather than simply deny it. With this in mind, it is hard to see that anyone with an ounce of understanding about the documented social engineering and conditioning imposed on the human populace in the last century would not see through the programming within this book. It could have been sponsored by the BBC (British Brainwashing Corporation) or CNN (Conspiracy Negation News).
If you really won't to bury your head in the sand about the reality of the Illuminati, Satanism, Luciferianism, Freemasonry, Secret Societies, Globalism, The NWO, psychopathic billionaire clubs, child abuse etc etc etc, then this book may help you get to sleep at night.

Why of why put a claxon in between each story!!!
So this is a decidely average book. It's perfect for playing in the car and having on in the background, waiting to hear about a cover up story you haven't heard of before. perfect for falling asleep to. HOWEVER, for some reason they put a ridiculous claxon on between each story "Whoop, Whoop Whoop clearance level 4!" WORST DECISION EVER. Goes from a relaxing listen to an annoying noise, like a mosquito locked in a tent with you. if you can get past the noise, it's an ok purchase that pretty much does what you expect.

Summary of every conspiracy you can think of
This book covers most major cover ups with a base summary of each of them, I've used this book mostly to find conspiracies I'm interested in with a hope to find an audiobook covering the specific conspiracies in more details.
The most popular conspiracies are near the start of the book and then has a lull around the 65 chapter mark mostly talking about assassinations of lesser known government types, it does pick up towards the end few chapters again.
it also has an alert system after every conspiracy saying how plausible each conspiracy is, I assume according to the author, though some of them where higher than I expected given the evidence presented in the book.

Did the government write this?!
What a shame. I believe the actual content on the conspiracies included in this book to hold some accurate detail, hence the download. However, after giving said detail, the narrator concludes each section by seemingly mocking all he's just said, as if it's absolutely too far fetched to even consider. The book should be called, we don't want anyone to logically think anymore, just believe what you're told, even when you know there's more to it. Didn't get past five conspiracies as couldn't stand this same mocking pattern any longer. What happened to thinking outside of the pre set brainwashing box?!

Fascinating
An easy-to-listen-to audio book which steps from one chapter to the next each time addressing a new conspiracy and weighing the evidence with a conclusion at the end of each.
Lots of new stuff here to get you teeth into.

Nice compilation of stories.
What did you like most about The Mammoth Book of Cover-Ups?
A great compilation but very annoying alarm sound after each one.
Any additional comments?
Would be really good if that annoying alarm sound was removed.

Interesting Compendium
The author manages to tread that thin line between presenting controversial evidence and opinions - whilst remaining objective and imperial.

The alarms!!
I was looking at the reviews about this book before purchase and there are lots around the alarm and thought its can't be that bad.... after 10 hours of alarms every 5-10 mins it does grind on you!

Not work the time
Too much contradictions on the theories, pure fantasy. An sci fi tv show story would be more real than this book.

Good for beginers
Good book containing short informational clips of 99 conspiracies. Perfect for newbies or finding out about new conspiracies. make sure to have pen and paper to wrote down the ones you wish to research after.
good narration with a very neutral view of the theries. alert at end of each is annoying and very confusing, pretty much redundant and just there to scare you awake after each chapter. Also no chapter names makes it hard to flip between subjects so you will have to listen beginin to end.

Easy listening
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Yup! I would recommend this book for the times when you want to listen to something easy to absorb without having to dedicate listening to a whole book to on one topic... in between books type of thing ;)
