What can one dollar get you?

The best hour and a half, that's what. Granted, I'm new to Kipling but this short story is a lush, beautiful story but served in equal parts grit and grime. You can smell, hear, and feel the county this story falls from and Kipling respects the written word better than anyone I can think of... highly recommended for a long commute or an evening break from your tv...

BJ Harrison brings book to life

This was an excellent rendition of the story the man who would be King and Mr. Harrison did a remarkable job of bringing to life the characters within the story by changing his voice to lend each character its own personality. I would definitely purchase another audible book read by this man. Very enjoyable.

Good classic listen.

Reading quite good. Don't expect it to be like the movie. They're each good in their own rites.

Powerful

One of the greatest stories of hubris and ambition ever written. A suspenseful, even terrifying tale, all the more relevant to us who served in the GWOT.

A nice taste of Kipling

Enjoyed the story and the narration. It gives one a sense of what other treasures are waiting. I recommend “Kim.”

Delightful

I love audiobooks; I especially enjoyed the superb narrator in the way he brought each character to life and made the experience dream-like

Read this, not the David Ian Davies

I can't compare this to other readings, but this is far preferable to the David Ian Davies. While a distinctly British reading, Davies' Irish and Scottish brogues are so authentic as to render his reading of the story unintelligible.

Ugh...

Ok, I know this was a cheap buy, buy why, WHY, do we have British stories being narrated with American accents? I find this really hard to listen to. It just feels like it's all over the place. I'd never expect to hear a Stephen King or a Jim Butcher book narrated in a British accent... What a waste... I think I'll just give it back!

Fantastic.

Brilliantly written and brilliantly read. The incredible story of two con men who attempt to swindle the tribes of the Middle East. Highly recommended.
