How can we apply technology to drive business value? Through four years of groundbreaking research to include data collected from the State of DevOps reports conducted with Puppet, Dr. Nicole Forsgren, Jez Humble, and Gene Kim set out to find a way to measure software delivery performance - and what drives it - using rigorous statistical methods. This book presents both the findings and the science behind that research, making the information accessible for listeners to apply in their own organizations.

Great book, no technical input for narrator
Great stuff, very well structured and gives you great examples and lists that you can take and use in your work right away. Unfortunately, the narrator is inappropriate for the material. A lot of the technical abbreviations and terminology is read in a very I securely. She should have gotten some technical coaching on how to pronounce what. Otherwise great book.

Blends Together & Kind of Boring
I have been listening to this while at work for the past week or so. And, the chapters definitely blend together as the big arching idea is not well stated per chapter. I also fine the book to be kind of repetitive (ie boring). It does give some nice remarks, but not enough to be as long as the book is. I would recommend increasing the speed of the reader if you gonna listen.

Somewhat biased and a product of a toxic culture.
The idea of classifying humans as a set of behaviours together and assigning them labels. Information is a bit toxic minded. Does not sound happy. We can also have individuals who fit into several classifications while also bringing out the best in all of them. We are all growing constantly. This person has worked it seems in a toxic work culture, which is depressing. Thank you though for methodically going through your career and I will listen to the rest of this audiobook.

An excellent book for managers in software field
The length of this book is pretty long, be patient.
I enjoyed it very much and truly felt that the book is so relevant, relatable and speaks from an insider's perspectives. It comes in handy, with great examples and stories which makes it so unique, useful and purposeful.
While listening to it, I felt motivated, more driven, with clear goals and more determined to achieve my dreams. What's more, I also figured out the problems I had and sometimes connected with it so much because I did run into the exact issues or problems depicted inside. It's a great book and I've truly learned a lot and benefited tremendously.
I highly recommend everyone - every managers, new and old/senior, if you'd love to gain some fresh perspectives, if you seek to obtain some insightful and informative advice from the most visionary, seasoned and inspiring leader, please give this book a shot. Would have been more useful earlier in my career
This book has useful advise and anecdotes if you are a relatively junior leader in a software company. If you’ve been doing 1:1s, developing in agile, have tech leads, and a career ladder then this isn’t for you. The book could have used some editing, there’s a fair bit of filler.
All in all, if you’re early in your management path then listen, but otherwise skip.

Great content, average naration
I've recently started as a Tech Lead and I was recommended this book, I'd also recommend it to others.
There are a few chapters you can skip but the relevant ones are valuable. This book isn't a cure-all, but it might help you identify some areas to improve, like it has for me.
Don't let the narration put you off - there's a lot of great content in here for new tech managers and I'm really glad it's in audiobook format because otherwise I'd have taken longer to read it. I found the easiest way to read was to have the speed set to 1.4-1.5x.
