Publisher's Summary

A murder in peak tourist season is enough to halt the lifeblood of any beach town: tourism. So when not one but two grisly murders threaten to wreck Mayor Jim Whitlow’s town, not to mention his political ambitions, he and Police Chief Naomi Robinson enlist the help of local residents and retired FBI agents Chris Gordon and Vic Thompson to help them catch the serial killer. But every clue seems to lead to more questions than answers. Outside help causes tension on the force, and Chris and Vic find themselves once again battling the inter-agency drama they thought they’d left behind. As the case makes national news and the pressure continues to rise, they begin to suspect that Rehoboth is just the tip of the gruesome iceberg. Can they stop the killer before he strikes again?

Thrilling

I’ve enjoyed many of Steve’s books on leadership and team building, so naturally I was skeptical about a murder - mystery novel. His story is a gripping “page turner” that kept me on the edge of my seat. As a former career FBI agent, Steve draws on his life experiences to give insightful crime solving strategies. You feel as if you’re elbow to elbow with the detectives plowing through the data to find the answers. The story is compelling.

A Real Page Turner

I enjoyed the story. It reminds me of a James Patterson novel. Suspenseful, with a few plot twists. I like that it takes place in Rehobeth Beach. I will be vacationing there next week, and I will be looking at things with a whole new perspective! I hope there is a sequel. And I hope the book is made into a movie.

A fantastic listen.

Fast paced and smart, just how I like my crime fiction. I feel in love with Rehoboth Beach over the 8 hour listen. And I will definitely be keeping my eye out for Dr. Gladis’s next novel.

The Most Dangerous Predator

The most dangerous predator at the beach isn’t always in the water. In the Manipulation Project, two retired FBI agents work against time and political interference to find a serial killer before he claims more victims. There are numerous twists, turns and surprises throughout the novel and just when you think you have figured things out, it turns out the plot runs deeper than you expected. Steve Gladis, the writer, has used his years of experience as an FBI agent to write a compelling book about a hunt for a serial killer. Alex Hyde-White’s reading of the audiobook brings the story to life in a way that makes you want to continue listening even after the chapter or your commute is over.
