Am I friends with JP Cane? Ha! That's laughable. Besides the fact that he’s adopted some far-fetched notion from the movie When Harry Met Sally that says men and women can't be friends and work together, it’s safe to say we're not friends. He's annoyingly loud, obnoxiously handsome, and has made an art out of poking all my hot buttons...multiple times a day. So you can imagine how disgruntled I am when I not only have to fly to San Francisco with him for work, but stay in the same penthouse. Yup, we're sharing the same air, 24-7. We're talking full-fledged working roommates.

Four guys. Constant moaning. And a revolving door across the college suite I somehow ended up in because my first name is Shawn. They don't discriminate. Girls. Guys. Grandmas. Plants (okay maybe not plants). All walks of life stroll in stressed to the brim and leave so satisfied I'm wondering what sort of talents lie behind that door. My roommate calls them the pleasure ponies. But the rest of the college campus? They just call them the new face of Wingmen Inc. - a paid-for-relationship service that makes big promises.

I'm not your typical girl. I've been running away from the memories that haunt me for so long that depression has become my only comfort. I was content in the darkness...until Wes Michels offered to be my light. I didn't know that time wasn't my ally - that every second that ticked past was one step closer to the end of something that was beginning to mean the end of myself. He tried to warn me. He promised me all he was able to offer - each moment as it came - but it would never be enough.

Losing your ability to speak at the age of 17; it's not normal or fair. But trauma has a way of throwing normality out the window. Dani lives anything but a normal life: her sister is married to one of the biggest names in Hollywood, her best friends are rock stars, and she has more love around her than most people experience in a lifetime. But that doesn't change the fact their parents are dead, or that it's her fault. It seems her new normal is being a mute, living on the inside, unable to actually communicate on the outside.

Reasons why I should not be drawn to Troy Serrano. Number one: He’s obnoxious. Number two: We were enemies more than a decade ago. Number three: He’s my friend’s ex-boyfriend. I could go on and on, really. When my boss gives me an unwanted assignment, and tells me it involves spending time with the grandson of one of our residents, the grandson turns out to be Troy. Lucky me. Four hours a week of having to deal with his insufferable personality and unsolicited advice - the only consolation is getting to stare at his annoyingly gorgeous face, in between our many arguments.

Publisher's Summary
Wingman rule number two: never reveal how much you want them.
Lex hates Gabi. Gabi hates Lex. But, hey, at least the hate is mutual, right? All Lex has to do is survive the next few weeks training Gabi in all the ways of Wingmen Inc. and then he can be done with her. But now that they have to work together, the sexual tension and fighting is off the charts. He isn't sure if he wants to strangle her or throw her against the nearest sturdy table and have his way with her.
But Gabi has a secret, something she's keeping from not just her best friend but her nemesis too. Lines are blurred as Lex becomes less the villain she's always painted him to be...and starts turning into something more. Gabi has always hated the way she's been just a little bit attracted to him - no computer-science major should have that nice of a body or look that good in glasses - but "Lex Luthor" is an evil womanizer. He's dangerous. Gabi should stay far, far away.
Then again, she's always wanted a little danger.

I enjoyed this book and there were a few times I bust out laughing while listening but I'll be honest I didn't love it as much as I thought I would. Maybe I had too high expectation for Lex & Gabi. I loved their banter more in the first book but it was still good in this one. These books were fun to say the least. I especially enjoyed the epilogue, i love knowing where things are going when the story is over.
The narration was great.

Laughed so hard, I cried down my leg!!!!
5 Crazy Ass Must Read/Listen Stars!!!!!
Rachel Van Dyken does it again! I have been waiting for Lex and Gabby's story since meeting them in Book 1. Their little rivalry (for lack of a better word) had me intrigued then so as soon as I was able one-click, I did. I even snatched up the audible book as well for those times when I would have to put my kindle down. From my experience with previous RVD books, this is a must for me as I always seem to get lost in her stories.
Lex and Gabby had me laughing so hard I cried down my leg. Seriously, I'm not lying. I laughed so hard. When they do come together, it's like an explosion. Which is expected with all the passion they throw into their "wars".
I did enjoy the "Kindle in Motion" feature available with this book. It did make for a more interactive read. I felt like I connected more with the characters although, I did have Lex pictured differently in my head.
Rachel has become my go to author when I'm in the mood for a good read that will have me rolling on the floor laughing. I look forward to her next hilarious read.

Great Book
Would you consider the audio edition of The Matchmaker's Replacement to be better than the print version?
I think it is better to hear the voices as it brings the characters to life.
Any additional comments?
The Matchmaker's Replacement by Rachel Van Dyken was a great book. I loved the dynamic between Lex and Gabi. They hate each other but Lex starts training her for her new job at Wingmen Inc. I enjoyed reading about how things can be so blurred when Lex and Gabi are close to each other. I loved that the author make the characters people that you both love and hate. I can't wait to read more by the author. I recommend this book to everyone.

Just as good as the first!
The fist one is this series was a big surprise on how awesome it was, so, coming into this one, my expectations were pretty high. And to be honest I think it was as good, maybe even better than, the fist one. This one is even funnier, and I think I like Lex more than Ian, which was totally not true in the first book!
Don't read this one before reading Ian's story first!!! The first book really set's up Lex and Gabi and it just wouldn't be the same if you read this one beforehand.

Cute and Funny, Mostly
I was very happy to see the second book in the series and Lex and Gabi didn't disappoint. We get to see exactly the how's and why's of the chemistry between these two that we noticed in the the first book. This is a good story about friendships and people are willing to do to be loyal friends. Lots of bantering and bickering to hide the budding relationship between Lex and Gabi, first from themselves and then from their friends. I find it curious that these folks claim to be so close yet they are clueless about each others lives. But that's what makes this book fun. A thoroughly enjoyable listen.
Narrators were very good. I have enjoyed them in other books and I am looking forward to listening to them again in the future.
Definitely worth a credit. This was a fun and funny listen.

5 Matchmaking Stars
The best way to end a book is with a giant grin on your face. CHECK.
I loved book 1 of this series so much that after getting the advanced readers copy, I bought the book and the audiobook. I can’t tell you how many times I have read Ian & Blake’s story. Whither it was with my eyes or my ears.
So when I saw book 2 was coming out and it was Lex & Gabi, I had a girly moment. Lex and Gabi are total enemies/frenemies that I totally wanted them to bang. Yep I said bang. Ha ha,
So yes this book lives up to everything I thought it would and then some. I always suspected Lex had a heart. He is a great best friend and has a great best friend who he would do anything for, and has by doing what Ian asked of him ‘anyone but Gabi ‘ rule.
Gabi is just the right amount of spunk, and I loved how she gave them both as good as she got. She was my favorite character in book 1. I am so happy she didn’t change her over all character in this book; she was still the same Gabi we met from the first book with just more on her plate.
Getting to watch these two dance around each other was priceless, the wit and the banter are top notch, I am going to have a hard time moving on from this book because it was just so charming, funny and serious all at the same time.
A favorite quote because swoon Lex!
“When every time you look at me, it’s like seeing the sunrise over the mountains, its rays lighting up everything around it so even if someone want to stay in the darkness, they won’t, not for long not when you’re around.” – Lex
The audiobook was outstanding I loved the narrators, they brought this world to life and I will be a repeat listener this is a guarantee.

Lex continue to be the annoying manwhore and Gabi succeeded in being his nemesis. Beautifully written, dual POV, enemies to lovers story is pretty much my book heaven, so it's a full 5 stars from me. Can be read as a standalone, but why would you want to miss out on the awesomeness that is book 1? Thoroughly enjoyed.

didnt like how the book was read out
didnt enjoy listening to the readers when they read chapters separately, so the man would imitate a females voice and vice versa. it ruined the quality of the book but i still loved the story.

Perfect Story, Not the Narration.
Rachel Van Dyken does it again. I haven't read a book of hers yet that has disappointed me and Jeremy York is great. However I didn't like the female narrator at all, her lack of pronouncing g's at the end of her words really bugged me.
Eg: 'horrible human being' sounded like she was saying 'horrible human bean'.

Absolutely loved it!
Great story, loved the characters and have listened to this over and over. Jeremy York can make any villain a hero, I could listen to him for days, weeks, months, ever... Thankyou 😃
