Kell is one of the last Travelers - magicians with a rare, coveted ability to travel between parallel universes. As such, he can choose where he lands. There's Grey London, dirty and boring, without any magic, ruled by a mad King George. Then there's Red London, where life and magic are revered, and the Maresh Dynasty presides over a flourishing empire. There's White London, ruled by whoever has murdered their way to the throne. And once upon a time, there was Black London...but no one speaks of that now.

Mercenary Casia Greythorne cares about two things: completing whatever her latest job is and earning enough coin to buy the expensive medicine that's keeping her mentor alive. So when the king himself offers her a job, she can't resist the massive reward he offers - even if it means working with Captain Elander, the arrogant, mysterious right-hand to that king. Her partner may be infuriating, but at least their mission seems simple and quick enough: investigate the origins of the strange plague that's been ravaging their empire, help find a cure, and then call it a day.

Winter lasts most of the year at the edge of the Russian wilderness, and in the long nights, Vasilisa and her siblings love to gather by the fire to listen to their nurse’s fairy tales. Above all, Vasya loves the story of Frost, the blue-eyed winter demon. Wise Russians fear him, for he claims unwary souls, and they honor the spirits that protect their homes from evil. Then Vasya’s widowed father brings home a new wife from Moscow. Fiercely devout, Vasya’s stepmother forbids her family from honoring their household spirits, but Vasya fears what this may bring.

As the only Second Daughter born in centuries, Red has one purpose - to be sacrificed to the Wolf in the Wood in the hope he'll return the world's captured gods. Red is almost relieved to go. Plagued by a dangerous power she can't control, at least she knows that in the Wilderwood, she can't hurt those she loves. Again. But the legends lie. The Wolf is a man, not a monster. Her magic is a calling, not a curse. And if she doesn't learn how to use it, the monsters the gods have become will swallow the Wilderwood - and her world - whole.

Publisher's Summary
After two years and seven months biding her time on Anima, her home ark, it is finally time to act, to put what she has discovered in the Book of Faruk to use. Weak link in the series
The first two books in this series are wonderful: a unique premise, fast-paced, many and diverse characters, multiple story lines, humor, affection, and unexpected turns. This third volume does not live up to its predecessors. There are almost no characters other than Ophelia. The story is slow and not particularly engaging. It's missing color and and verve, humor, and true affection between characters. Ophelia does find Thorn, but they are unable to connect emotionally. I still believe Thorn is either autistic or has Asperger's Syndrome. The search for God is necessary to the story arc but has become boring. Will I buy the next volume? Yes, based on the merits of the first two books. Will I buy a fifth volume? We'll see. It's time to wrap up this series.

And WHAT A Memorable time in Babel!
I absolutely hands down loved this story. Christelle Dabos has outdone her previous books And has once again astounded sounded my passions for reading out the door.
The story starts with us coming back and recapping the events of the the missing of the Claire DE lune. You definitely feel the pain you felt when that story had ended Was it's cliff hanger leaving so many unanswered question. This story Made all of the characters grow exponentially. My favorite part… Spoilers here… is When you get the satisfaction of certain characters reuniting in this story. When Ophelia 1st began her journey in the mirror visitor series she was very naive very naive she was very Annoying at times because of that naivety.
This story is about Ophelia resolving Some of her issues that she has come to conflict with in the last 2 books. You get some answers about What's important through the story and also the climax in the delivery of it was very suave.
The ending of this book will leave you satisfied enough until the storm of echoes comes out. I am so excited to read the next volume. The narrator was phenomenal throughout the whole journey from book one to book 3.

Story is great, but I'm hating the narrator
still haven't finished the book, but I will very soon. the story is great, I read the first two books in two weeks and decided to try the audiobook for the third to listen while sewing. I have to say I'm hating the accents done by the narrator. as an italian, I feel very annoyed every time Mediana speaks. the accent feels very unnecessary, too strong, almost like a caricature.
it is very off putting and it's a shame, it's ruining a great book for me.

Love this book, can't wait for the fourth!
The story line of the series is interesting, new, one might say quirky. Love the mix of mystery, fantasy, romance and humor. This book is not as good as the first too, it's slower and the love story feels unrealistic, forced even. Usually there is lots of quirky characters and a bit of humor, almosr like caricatures, however this books lacks this, as it focuses on the main character Ophelia. The narrator is the best part of the experience, she is a delight to listen to and truly makes the characters feel alive, discerning different accents and voices, I love her work on these books.
