Publisher's Summary

A woman in danger

Serena Brooks is a best-selling author of erotic fiction. She knows how to write a happy ending but hasn't managed to find one of her own. Divorced and alone, she has no one to turn to when a stalker begins to threaten her life. The cops don't believe her. Her ex-husband thinks she's making the whole story up. She has no one left to turn to except a pair of hired bodyguards. They promise to guard her body, but no one can protect her heart.

Two men in search of love

Adam Miles and Jacob Dean are halves of a whole. They've spent their entire adult lives searching for the one woman who can handle them both. Adam is the playful, indulgent lover, while Jacob is the possessive, loving Dom. When Serena comes into their lives, Adam is certain that she's the one. Jacob's past comes back to haunt them all. He is suspicious of Serena's story, and his concerns are driving a wedge between him and Adam. But when the stalker strikes, they will have to come together or lose each other forever.

Half good, half bad

so the first halfish of the book was pretty good, keep in mind half of this book was almost 6 hours, I liked the character development and the overall plot of the story line. I was anxious for our 3 lovers to finally connect, there was so much build up and tension. that's where I started to dislike the book, I wont give too much away, but the way they came "together" the first time was distracting, I was excited for this book because it was a menage but there wasnt any hot menagerie until towards the end of the book. So you have 6 hours of tension and building, a let down of mediocre sex, a fight, and then what felt like endless hours of the same inner dialogue of the 3 characters. it got very repetitive, and annoying and it took away from the chemistry and tension that had built between the characters. the other thing that was so annoying was that, since the sex scenes were so little when they finally happen you're on the edge of seat waiting for chemistry to explode but after everytime the author has them do something to each other, it goes into a 10 minute inner dialogue of some random cheesy insight the character is having. then you go back to sex, then break for cheesy insight, it once again distracts from the tension building. I really think this novel would have been great if the author cut out alot of the repetitive inner thoughts and added more steaminess. Maybe an 8 hour book instead of 11ish hours.

the next book is 14 hours and I dont think I can put myself through that. maybe I'll take a break and read the next book in a couple months!

FLOOR MATS!!!

The women in these books are floor mats...I can’t stand it!!! I hoped the second one would be better, I just can’t stand that these women don’t have a back bone. I’m afraid to even start the next one, I may get pissed off again. Too many books in the series to be pissed off so many times.

Great romantic thriller

Lexie’s books are always wonderfully smokin hot & sexy. She writes with great passion, thought out characters & storylines. Loved that this character wrote erotic ménage books too. Can’t wait for for of the sexy doms from Taggert Security. Great narration by Ryan West.

Disappointing

Endless psychobabble no man would use, relentless ruminating about sex fantasies but a total of 4(?) sex scenes in the entire book. Inadequate as a romance or as erotica.

Book Lasted Way Too Long!

I listened to the audio book and thought the narration was good. I started out liking all of the characters. I liked that Serena was making a new life and focusing on her career after her divorce. I liked both Jake and Adam. They played well off of each other, and seemed to bring balance to the relationship. There were a number of funny moments in the book that served to lighten up all of the friction.

The other things that didn't thrill me pale in comparison to the fact that this book went on FOREVER!! It was 14 hours and 20 minutes long. It irritated me that all 3 of the characters were so fragile. They had these insecurities and seemed so sensitive to EVERYTHING that they said to each other. It was exhausting being around them. I got so sick of them trying to get the relationship together.

I honestly don't think the book was terrible. Figuring out the stalker part had some surprises, and other pieces of the plot were fairly obvious. I wish the book spent less time on the angst of the relationship and more time on the actual relationship. Luckily, I was able to listen to this through Audible Escapes.

What a struggle, forced 20 chapters...

...will never get the wasted (invested) time back. Not a fan of reviews that don’t provide positive feedback so here it goes - nope, I got nothing. Heavy 😔 sigh.

Terrible.

The men only think of sex, they both act immature. This book got such great reviews and I don't understand why.

A Satisfying Story

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes because it would provide her with hours of entertainment and a satisfying story.

What other book might you compare The Men with the Golden Cuffs to and why?

Book 1 of this series - "The Dom Who Loved Me" and the KGI series by Maya Brooks.

Have you listened to any of Ryan West’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Yes. I listened to his performance in the Dom Who Loved Me. I enjoyed both books. I like his narration style.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes, but since it's 14 hours long, I couldn't.

I loved this book!

So far out the first two books this was my favourite by a mile! Fabulous story and well narrated despite not being a fan of men voicing women. Can't wait to get started on book 3!

good plot but frustrating

The story was good, enjoyed the concept. Biggest downfall that will stop me from buying this author again is the multiple chunks of waffle. It took 30 mins of prattle to get through the character walking from one room to the next. Painful

Well rounded out characters and story

Really enjoyed this book. There was the usual tropes one would expect from a mfm pairing but loved the plot weaving throughout. Well realised ending and I figured out who the stalker was only 5 mins before it was revealed. Recommend.
