Publisher's Summary

A funny chapter book series for kids ages 9-12

Michelle loves everything about her home under the sea. She and her mermaid friends can play for hours, swimming among the fish and the coral.

But her mother is the queen and Michelle is about to be crowned a princess - a fact that she is not entirely happy about, because it means she'll be destined to stay inside the Coral Palace.

She wants adventure and she's heard rumors about another world - another kind of creature - living above the sea. Creature called humans.

What happens when a young mermaid leaves the safety of her home for waters unknown?

The narrator’s accents were annoying to listen to

The story was cute and kept my daughter engaged, so we listened until the end, however the narrator was very hard to listen to. Her accents were really not good, and I wasn’t sure why Mermaids who are supposed to be from the same place have Southern, British, New York and Midwestern accents!

The reader is wrong

The reader may be fine for other books but she sounds horrible when she is trying to sound like a young person.
My kids were confused by why everyone sounded like a weird old lady.
.
Eventually she asked me to turn it off because she really did not like the voices.

Series of kidnappings

Why is this recommended for 3-5 year olds? The mermaids are in constant peril and being trapped. Very detailed descriptions of exactly how trapped. Lots of wriggling. Wtf is this plot? She wants to explore and just keeps getting trapped by various animals. Not looking forward to the nightmares my daughter will have tonight. The performance makes it even scarier. This shit better pick up. Young female mermaids in constant fear. Wtf

So stinking good

I didn’t dislike anything really. I think it’s honestly a cute story. And it is very good for like a bedtime story for a kid because it’s someone exciting but not scary. I think the characters are cute. And that the fact that there are different characters and they own they have a book and it’s from different perspectives I think that’s really cool

Kindergartener's perspective

"I loved listening about these mermaids!"

We have a bit of a drive to & from Ballet each week so we thought we'd give these a try with our kindergartener. She loves to read (hear) stories. I was a bit surprised at how well she engaged. She related to the characters which in turn started fun discussions.
