Publisher's Summary

In this beautifully written book, Buddhist monk and Nobel Peace Prize nominee Thich Nhat Hanh explains how to acquire the skills of mindfulness. Once we have these skills, we can slow our lives down and discover how to live in the moment - even simple acts like washing the dishes or drinking a cup of tea may be transformed into acts of meditation.

Thich Nhat Hanh's gentle anecdotes and practical exercises help us to arrive at greater self-understanding and peacefulness, whether we are beginners or advanced students. Irrespective of our particular religious beliefs, we can begin to reap the immense benefits that meditation has been scientifically proven to offer. We can all learn how to be mindful and experience the miracle of mindfulness for ourselves.

Good but …

For those who seek a practical approach might be very repetitive. The information could be much more compacted. Too slow but good enough to practice mindfulness

Very interesting, but will read again

Good tips to better control your reactions. Nice breathing techniques to help beat stress. Live better, forgive and master yourself.

Timeless Wisdom

Gentle but insistent, Thay imparts his timeless wisdom. Big ideas in simple language, beautifully voiced by John Sackville, this is an audio book that I will listen to again and again.

Starts off great...

Starts off great and easy going, easy to follow. As it goes on.. it just goes on... I understand what it’s about and what the message is. But towards the end it just doesn’t seem to be as focused as it was towards the start.

Enjoyed this but not my favourite Mindfulness book

I enjoyed this and think Thich Nhat Hanh is wonderful however i found myself getting a bit bored listening to the last couple hours of this audio book. There are some brilliant gems and inspiring nuggets within but in my opinion the presentation of this book is a bit lacklustre when compared to books like Eckhart Tolle’s The Power Of Now and A New Earth.

Touched the subconscious!

Simply communicated. Yet understood on a deeper level.
A fabulous book for the beginner on their spiritual journey.
Although a pleasant reminder to those further along their path..of the simplest truths...sometimes forgotten...it's always a wonder being brought back to the foundation of any practice.
I find myself..half smiling...often throughout my day as Thich Naht voice resonates in my mind.

Buy this book and listen to it.

I have both read and listened to this book before, but I never tire of John Sackville beautifully reading the wise words of Thich Nhat Hanh. I also need a regular reminder of all the wisdom and truth in this incredible book.
What more is there to say? Buy this book and read or listen to it. It's both time and money spent in the best possible way.

Powerful contents.

Enlightening book. Probably heavy for a first timer looking into mindfulness but amazing for someone wanting to understand it more deeply.

It was okay but not my type

I am into mindfulness, having a positive outlook on life and enjoying the now but for some reason I did not like the delivery of this book. Wasn’t the feel good stuff I was looking for and it may have been too slow or stale for me as well. Hate to give this type of review but I finished the book and didn’t really enjoy it. I really enjoy Eckart Tolle’s books
