Amanda Dienner hasn't spoken a word to her Old Order mother or twin sister in five years when she receives word that her mother has passed away and left her Lancaster County's most popular Amish bed-and-breakfast. Now an Englisher, Mandy is shocked: Her sister should have been the obvious choice! another good one
What is it about these stories set in Amish country that I enjoy so much? I like Hallmark movies and sometimes I wonder about that as well. Rather than the shoot 'em up, sex and drug stories so many modern ones are these seem to be of a kinder, gentlre nature. As they say in the preface of these stores, they are of the human spirit, maybe that's why, if you believe in the goodness of it. This one is the seond in a trilogy with the first being "The Secret" By the end of this story you have a good idea of what's going to happen in the third book but you want to listen to it anyway to see how it all plays out. Are these the most exciting books I've ever listened to? No. But I can't wait for the final one, "The Telling"!

This is the middle of a good story, typical of the genre. If you have not read the book before, and do not want to be prepared to have to buy the book after, do not purchase this book. With that in mind, I really am enjoying the story.

Unfinished
Another great story by Beverley Lewis, but I am mystified at the divisions of content in this trilogy. There was nothing satisfying or complete at the end of the first book, nothing satisfying or complete at the end of the second. why finish at this point? Almost any other chapter ending would have been as incomplete! And yet, the stories draw the reader in. Just don't buy one, unless you can afford to buy all!
