Publisher's Summary

Have you ever hit rock bottom? I embarrassingly have.

It’s why I’m wearing my girl's decorative scarf over my head, clutching her lady drink to my chest, and singing ever so softly to Joni Mitchell while swaying back and forth.

This is what therapists refer to as losing it

Oldest story in the book: boy meets girl, boy falls for girl, boy screws up massively, girl tells boy to suffocate in the fruits of his very own unborn children.

Heard it before? I'm sure you have.

So what's so different about this story? Well, it's about me, The Modern Gentleman, New York City's top advice columnist, and my rather ungraceful downfall from my pristinely polished pedestal.

It's about a girl I met who threw all my proven theories to the wind and left me awkward, needy, and absolutely head-over-wing-tipped shoes in love.

This is a story about June Lacy and how she single-handedly dismantled The Modern Gentleman.

Tickled

This was a solid book and it had me laughing so hard, Meghan hits the funny bone all the time and the fact that this had a TON of Connor narration (not to downplay Kelsey) was decadent ❤️

Cute Story

This book was just ok for me. Not that great but not bad either. I was honestly hoping for it to be a bit funnier than it was. There were a few funny scenes but I was just wanting more.

The story revolves around Wes, who is The Modern Gentleman. He writes these columns as The Modern Gentleman and his boss wants him to write a series of articles based on meeting, dating and landing the perfect relationship. While out for a walk he meets June and is instantly attracted to her and thinks she would be perfect for his article. So that have this sort of meet cute moment and he is intrigued by her. So here starts his relationship with June and his articles for The Modern Gentleman.

They start by just going for walks and then is slowly turns into more. June isn't a rush into a relationship kind of girl. But every time they meet up, their feelings continue to grow. June is a sweet and somewhat quirky girl but I really liked her character. She thinks she has found a great man but she has no idea who he really is or that he is writing these articles based off of their dates.

For the most part there is very little drama in this book. Most of it revolves around Wes not being honest about his job and the articles that he is writing based off their relationship. Wes isn't a bad guy at all but he was threatened with his career so he did what he needed to do.

Almost all of this book is narrated by Connor Crais (and I really like his voice). There is a little bit narrated by Kelsey Navarro as June. I really wished we had a bit more from her. She is new to me but I really liked her voice.

Cringe-worthy fun!!!

I highly recommended to listen/read this lovely rom-com story!!! I love the adorably awkward, swoon worthy, little to no angst, and such great silly humor!!! It’s a feel-good kind of book! You want some laughs and fun cringe worthy moments in your life, this is it!!! The narrators nailed it!!
