Not great not bad

Narration felt unnatural at times, the info is good if a new father will only have 5 hours total to get ready for fatherhood. this one though felt more like a list than a well structured prep for dad.

Good content and narration.

While I really appreciated the content, order, and pacing, there were several areas of the reading where I really felt like a PDF table, graph, or supplemental images were required. It's an audible, obviously, but it would be nice to have a reference when doing some of this later.

A brilliant preparation guide for my husband

My husband and I are currently trying for a baby so we are both trying to get ahead of the curve and learn as much as possible in order to become responsible parents. This audiobook does promise a fair amount in the summary but I feel it lives up to those promises. There are countless practical and emotional tips which will benefit him so much when our baby is in its first year. The narration is very clear and it was nice having another man narrating this as my husband found it easy to relate to.

We'll have to wait a while to put it all into practice but he feels so much more confident and in touch with his emotions. The extra joy is that after listening to this, he is even more excited than he was before so that has made me very happy! We can't wait to start our new family now!

I wish my husband had listened this!

This is a fantastic audiobook! I bought it for my brother as he’s just become a Dad for the first time and had a quick look through before I handed it over. It’s jam packed full of important advice delivered in a fun, relatable way. So many new parenting audiobooks are geared towards women and it’s refreshing that this one is full of tried and tested tips from real first time Dads. I think it’s a great gift which will help Dads feel less alone throughout pregnancy and the first year.

Peace of mind

This is an excellent book for any first time father or father to be. Answers so many common questions such as baby proofing your home, bathing, soothing and caring for your infant. It also gets into the real emotions a new father will experience and how to navigate through them. Highly recommend for first time dads!

So informative! Very helpful!

The book is really helpful, especially for first-time Dads. As the saying goes that you will learn from experience, it's still best nowadays to have at least a basic knowledge of what to do, and how to do it for the first time. Hence, this book really helps you in that aspect, you will feel you've equipped enough knowledge regarding being a first-time Dad. All in all, this is a recommended book!

Great book for dada’s

Got this for my husband. He really likes the author’s style and that it breaks up pregnancy into manageable chunks. It goes week by week and gives him a little more insight as to how I’m feeling and what’s going on with baby. His favorite part is that it gives him helpful tasks to do week by week.

Boyfriend found it informative

My boyfriend and I are expecting. This is my second child but it is his first. So his nerves are on edge. Wanted to find some thing that would help him feel more comfortable as well as give him tips and tricks and ideas. He enjoyed it. We’re due in about a month so we will see how well he uses it!

I don't want to break the baby!

The stereotype of the terrified father of a new baby is more likely to be accurate than most stereotypes. We love our kids, we just worry that we're going to accidentally break them. John Nero does a great job of allaying our fears and building confidence with practical tips and guidance on getting through that joyous/horrifying first year of fatherhood. The one thing that can change the world for the better is more good dads, and this fantastic book will help you to be the best dad you can be for your brand new bundle of joy. The practices and strategies are just as useful for all the new moms out there as well, so I highly recommend buying this as a gift for any new parents, expecting parents, or frustrated parents you know. They will thank you! 5 stars all day.

A refreshing perspective

It was really refreshing to hear this from the perspective of a man. I feel that the content is quite comprehensive and useful. It is a valuable companion to the first time father but the information is so wide-ranging that the experienced father would learn a lot.

As a woman who has gone through pregnancy and had a premature baby, I wasn’t aware of many of the details surrounding this eventuality. I am grateful for this book and I’m sure many couples will find it equally useful.

Informative!

This is a good gift to new dads who might not have any clue on what to do and if they do, it is a good one to have to go through some of the things that are never taught. There are tips and strategies that will help manage intense emotions with childbirth and also create a stimulating environment.

The Baby and You

This book will help you realise that you will never feel prepared enough. I really enjoyed that this book addressed not only the relationship with the baby, but also with your partner too.

Sometimes you might feel that you don't know how to do anything- am I holding it too tight? am I keeping its head right?

this book will give you great advice and help you set realistic expectations of whats to come if you're still expecting. Overall, it will make you a more supportive partner and a more confident dad. Highly recommend!

Lots of helpful tips for first-time dads

My friend's baby was born a month ago and I had never seen him so nervous. There was almost no friend as a dad now that he can ask for a guide. This audiobook I found was just like a gift from heaven! He said it helps him recognize more signs from his baby's body cues, and there are many practical tips for new dads like him to release the burden of his wife. I'm happy he's enjoying his exciting fatherhood!

Handy guide

We had our 1st baby few years ago and now we're waiting for the 2nd one. This audiobook is a great guide to have a reference and to review fatherhood things that you don't remember and to learn about the recent news on this field. The most I liked tips on common situations you may encounter as a new dad,

Fantastic reading for new dads

Lots of good information for new dad's here. It's quite easy for dad's to feel left out as their partner suddenly gives all their attention to someone new, has a seemingly instant bond and just seems to know what to do. Dads can quite easily feel side-lined and not know what they should be doing. This book goes through everything letting us know how we might feel, which is pretty normal and then what we can be doing to interact better with our new borns, how it benefits them, us and our wives and even gives the little cues babies give that we may miss otherwise. Invaluable reading and good information here.
