A MUST for the kinkster

This thoroughly covers the more psychological aspects to BDSM play as the top. This would also be helpful for a bottom to read to gain more perspective. There are anecdotal stories to illustrate concepts. It is easy to read and understand. Great for any level! I absolutely loved it and would recommend to anyone kinky.

Great book for newer lifestyle Domme's

I am a pro Domme and fetish model. I fly a lot and downloaded this just based on reviews. The book is more for those in the lifestyle but I enjoyed the perspective and insight from life long players. Definitely recommend the book. This was so well written, I will next be listening to the first book, to get the sub perspective.

Not what I expected

This wasn't what I expected when I bought the book, it's more an intro to BDSM society, culture, and norms, than any else. I guess I didn't really know what to expect, but the book gave me a new appreciation of the people that really get into BDSM. It gets a bit preachy at some points, and when they talk about BDSM rituals they got a bit far out for me, but it wasn't a detractor for me, just not my cup of tea.

I'd recommend this if you wanted to know more about BDSM culture, rather than an intro to the what, and how.

Good basic intro to Topping

Good introduction to topic. Goes in depth about different dynamics and challenges the assumed gender roles in BDSM. Something that threw me off came up right near the end of the book when one of the narrators uses the N-word after spending a lot of time talking about play that involves race dynamics. It felt like a bit of a surprise after talking about how that is risky and should be done with consent. Overall it felt like a choice made for shock factor, as the addition of that word did not do anything to further explain anything.

Ok right up until Spirituality and Lucifer

Ok educational book regarding BDSM except for all the hints about spirituality and more specifically Lucifer. I’m not happy about the constant hints about sexual magic and other new age garbage. Education about BDSM for Tops is well and good but don’t try to indoctrinate the reader into a Satanic cult.

Not What I Was Looking For.

I thought this would be a book full of inspiration for BDSM scenes, foundational reminders of a top’s responsibly, and tricks for communicating better within unconventional relationships in 2019, etc. I gave up half way through chapter 8... the book vacillates between light erotica and a tediously basic How-To for interpersonal communication between you and your bottom. I could have found all of this by just skimming through Reddit and/or FetLife.

Excellent read

I truly struggled with the ethical slut. There were so many problematic ideations and narrow viewpoints that both triggered and disturbed me. Here I feel the authors are on ground where they truly shine.

Book review

I enjoyed reading/listening to this book. It was an enlightening experience for one who is not well verse on what bdsm, ds, or even sm are all about. The authors sharing their experiences was also drawing me into the book even more. Not really sure what order they came out in but I’m on to reading the Bottoming book. Perhaps a book called switch will be next….

Thought provoking and enlightening

I loved this book a lot. I'm fairly new to the lifestyle and this book was a great eye opener as to what it means to be a good and healthy top. The only complaint that I have is all the new age stuff that is talked about towards the end of the book. Even though it was interesting, it wasn't what I wanted to hear about nor was it why I decided to listen to this audio book. Overall though, it is definitely worth a listen and I have recommendations it to numerous people.

Filled with a ton of useful info!

A very enlightening read. It opened my eyes to new aspects of bdsm which has allowed me to deepen my relationship with my partner and sub. I would definitely recommend.
