The No-Buy Year

I love the idea. But... I am addicted to audible. I don't think I can give them up. I do believe it will help with other spending. I truly enjoyed this audible.

Okay

Narrator was great, the book was okay, it didn't really provide much information that I didn't know already. Also gave too much leniency, the no-buy year isn't really a no-buy year. I would have liked more information on how to go about this, where to go to get free food, how to sell things, etc.

i wish i had returned it

her voice becomes very monotonous and what she says is a mix of marie condo meets every shopoholics anonymous counselling book.

Interesting

I enjoyed hearing her story and suggestions. I think I need to do a couple rounds of purging, as it is then clearer what can be let go with less “pain”. I’d like to see an accompanying list of specific resources from which to get free items, which she only generally mentions at one point. (And I disagree that hair color is a necessity 😂, but if it makes you feel good, and it’s not replacing nourishing your body, great! ;-) )

Simple and easy to digest

Writing style is simple. Easy-to-follow instructions. In addition, the narrator's voice is very lively and personal, unlike other narrators who simply say out the books.

Since I'm already pretty minimalist it didn't really affect me

I loved the narrator's voice and that was pretty much why I have it 3 not 2 stars!! I'm already pretty minimalist but I can see how this can be really helpful for someone with a clutter problem!!
