Publisher's Summary

Return to the enchanting world of the Montague siblings in the finale to the New York Times best-selling and Stonewall Honor-winning series, featuring a teenage Adrian Montague as he desperately seeks the now adult Monty and Felicity - the older siblings he never knew he had.

Adrian Montague has a bright future. The sole heir to his father’s estate, he is an up and coming political writer and engaged to an activist who challenges and inspires him. But most young Lords aren’t battling the debilitating anxiety Adrian secretly lives with, or the growing fear that it might consume him and all he hopes to accomplish. In the wake of his mother’s unexpected death, Adrian is also concerned people will find out that he has the mental illness she struggled with for years.

When a newly found keepsake of hers - a piece of a broken spyglass - comes into Adrian’s possession, he’s thrust into the past and finds himself face-to-face with an older brother he never knew he had. Henry “Monty” Montague has been living quietly in London for years, and his sudden appearance sends Adrian on a quest to unravel family secrets that only the spyglass can answer.

In pursuit of answers about the relic, the brothers chart a course to locate their sister Felicity. But as they travel between the pirate courts of Rabat, Portuguese islands, the canals of Amsterdam, and into unknown Artic waters, the Montague siblings are thrown into one final adventure as they face a ghostly legend that threatens their whole family.

A swashbuckling good time
The finale to Mackenzi Lee’s Montague Siblings series has arrived—though I’m not sure I’m ready to say goodbye. This series has been such an unexpected, wild adventure, and its conclusion, The Nobleman’s Guide to Scandal and Shipwrecks, doesn’t disappoint. Narrator Christian Coulson returns to give voice to Adrian Montague, now a teenager, as he discovers the existence of the siblings he never knew he had, Monty and Felicity. There are pirates, there’s fantasy, there’s romance, and plenty of everything listeners have come to expect and love from Lee. If we can’t have more of the Montagues, then I hope Coulson will finally answer my pleas to narrate more audiobooks! —Katie O., Audible Editor

Worth the wait!

It’s rare to read a series that is so consistently wonderful from beginning to satisfying end. I love how these books explore real challenges people have without being preachy. I love that there are people I can identify with having amazing adventures that are over the top and real at the same time. The afterword on mental illness is so lovely I’d like everyone I know who has this struggle to read it. (Which is a lot of people, I work in psychiatry.) Grateful to this author for hours of good reading about real serious things that is still somehow not depressing. I’m sure I’ll reread the series many times.

A beautiful story about living with mental illness.

Heartbreakingly accurate descriptions of what it’s like to live with anxiety disorders. Anyone who has struggled with mental illness will recognize themselves in this and feel less alone. It was also a sweet, hilarious and optimistic story about sibling relationships, forgiveness, and learning to accept your self and others for who you are,

A great ending to an excellent series!

Excellent ending to the series. One of my favorite series has come to an end and I'm a bit speechless. Adrian is a great character who struggles with generalized anxiety disorder and a bit of OCD, but, as the book shows us, he is much more than just his illness. He managed to reunite with his siblings and embark in a journey to several different countries—a journey which is as much physical as internal. I wish we had even more time with these characters, but I'm happy to let them go live their lives. If you've read the other two, you already know you can't miss this one.

Fantastic book, great depiction of hard issues

One of best, and most realistic depictions of generalized anxiety I've ever seen. It is both very much a part of the character and his development, and also not just a book where mental illness is dumped into an existing story.

the book itself is also fun and phenomenal, like the other Montague books. the narration as well, is fantastic.

thank you, Mackenzi Lee, for writing such a wonderful, and real book.

Loved it! Coulson's Performance is Fabulous!

Marvelous!

What a fantastic adventure. And I loved how characters from the past stories find their ways into Adrian's tale.

The way Mackenzi Lee tackles Adrian's conditions is beautifully handled, as is the way his friends and family deal with his reactions throughout the novel.

Exciting and dear, and thoroughly enjoyable.

Christian Coulson delivers a stellar performance in the audio version.

It's so hard to say good-bye!

I probably should have waited to listen to the end of this book on my way home from work, instead of on my way to work- but I didn't know I'd be crying so much!
The Nobleman's Guide to Scandal and Shipwrecks was everything I hoped it would be. It was everything I knew, and more so didn't know, I needed and wanted from the final book in the Montague Siblings series. I honestly don't think I ever even read the blurb for this one, I knew I'd be reading it regardless.
My Montague loving heart is now firmly split in three, equally owned by Monty, Felicity, and Adrian. Oh sweet Adrian! If I didn't know it'd bother him so much I'd wrap him right up in a hug.

I loved that Adrian's story brought all three of the siblings together, after so many years. It made me sad though, how alone Adrian must have been growing up, having no clue he had a brother and sister somewhere out there. I have to admit, I did get a little mad at Monty in the beginning, with the way he treated the Goblin. I understand his hatred of his father, but poor Adrian shouldn't be held responsible for his father. But I loved how their relationship grew throughout their journey.

Adrian really tugged at my heartstrings. His anxiety was so overwhelming at times, I started to feel anxious myself. He wanted so badly to figure out the mystery of his mother's spyglass, almost to his detriment. The mystery surrounding the spyglass kept me entertained and on the edge of my seat- mostly because I was so worried about Adrian! He really is the sweetest and deserves to be protected at all costs.

I really loved this story and how everything played out. And that epilogue- ugh, my heart, I adored it so much. Not me tearing up again thinking about this being the end. But thankful it really doesn't have to be, I can revisit the Montagues over and over again whenever I want.

The audiobook was wonderful. Christian Coulson is so fantastic. I'm glad I chose to listen to this series, the narrators really brought the books to life. Christian's portrayal of Adrian brought a whole new dimension to the character that I don't think you'd get by just reading the book. I know I will be listening to The Nobleman's Guide to Scandal and Shipwrecks again- I may have to binge the entire series one after the other.

Please don't let this be the last book 🙏🏻

These books have offered me the most wonderful escapism. This final book was sitting in my pre-ordered list for longer then anticipated, but very much worth the wait.

The story, the characters, the places - all depicted beautifully. as with the two books before this one I cried laughed and was left eagerly awaiting further adventures.

I am sad that this is due to be the final book, however am thankful that the series was put to paper.

Thank you in particular for the Authors notes at the end.

Absolutely splendid!

I was so excited to begin this book and what kind of turn it would take. The adventures these characters get up to pale in comparison to the rich and meaty character development that we get to enjoy - I mean this in the best way possible.
Lee's description of anxiety through Adrian is breathtaking and at times an echo of many thoughts of those that have anxiety. I cannot recommend this book, or this series, enough; the love simply pours out of it.

Brilliant

Loved all these books. Engaging characters and so beautifully narrated. I would follow this narrator to books I may not otherwise read.
