Publisher's Summary

From USA Today best-selling author Meghan Quinn comes a romantic comedy novella about the magic and misadventures of a one-night stand.

Recently divorced Cooper Chance knows he’s officially in a rut when his parents take him barhopping in the hope of resuscitating his love life. At first, he’s skeptical. How could a gritty dive bar possibly solve his problems? But then he runs into Nora McHale.

Nora isn’t at the bar looking for love. She’s there to unwind after yet another exhausting day at her bakery. And even if she were hoping to meet someone, it sure wouldn’t be Cooper - her best friend’s ex-husband.

According to the unwritten rules of romance, Cooper and Nora are completely off limits to each other. But after a fun, flirty night at the bar, they can’t ignore the wild attraction between them.

Is this the beginning of something real, or will their passionate night together be their one and only?

Enjoyable!

I really enjoyed this novella about Cooper and Nora and their one night. It's filled with all the typical humor and heart that Meghan Quinn always incorporates into her books. I'm glad I knew going into this that it is a prequel to her upcoming book, The Reunion, because it ends without any resolution and left this reader wanting more. I listened to the audiobook, narrated by Laurie West and Teddy Hamilton. Teddy is amazing, as usual. Laurie is a new to me narrator and I thought she did great as well.

Lead in

I enjoyed the story but could not get past the female narrator. She just sounded to old for the part. Always enjoy Mr Hamilton.

Ahhh
This was not a complete story. What happens next???
Plus it was only 2 hours long. Not happy ☹️
Gotta love that Teddy though. 😍

I need more!!!

(Cooper & Nora): what a hilarious short story. I was so into the book that I didn't want it to end and then there was kind of a cliffhanger. Now I'm anxious to know if there's another book that finishes their story. Imagine having your parents become your wingman for a night because they think you've been single for too long. This was non-stop laughter. Then Cooper's parents accidentally on purpose leaves him at the bar with Nora and the fun begins with sparks in tow. So 🔥 hot. Someone please tell me there's another book with these two characters.

Well, I’m hooked! Can’t wait to see where this continues with The Reunion

The way Meghan Quinn develops a story never ceases to amaze me. This is a prequel novella for The Reunion. I find often with prequel novellas you get a small connection to the characters, enough to amp up the excitement of the full length book a few notches. With this story, That One Night, I was full invested in the first chapter, the first few pages if I am honest. Meghan just does such a great job with her story and character development here. I am invested in the minor characters here. I loved this and can’t wait for more in The Reunion.

Teddy Hamilton is perfect for Cooper. He adds this extra grump, and snark, and playfulness that makes me so excited to what is next for Cooper. Laurie West was a new to me narrator. I really liked her voice and what she brought to Nora’s character. She was the perfect balance to Cooper.

What a night!

Short but sweet! Cute story but ended too abruptly. Should have been more communication between the 2 at the end.

♥️♥️♥️Fun Prequel to The Reunion❤️❤️❤️

So glad I read this was a prequel to The Reunion before I read these out of order. This great novella is classic Meghan Quinn….funny, with likable characters, and a plot line that’s engaging, For a novella, I found Quinn was able to bring a lot of insight into the H and h’s background and motivations. The One Night does end in a steamy cliffhanger that’s resolved in The Reunion.

Teddy Hamilton is among my fav male narrators…he and Laurie West really brought the story to life! I highly recommend!

What a wild and funny novella

I read somewhere that I should read this before the reunion and I glad I did. Cooper is spending another Friday night with his parents when they express concern that he's not putting himself out there, since his divorce. He makes a joke that leads to his parents going out with him on the spot to be his wing men and help him find a nice girl.

He heads to his local dive bar where they run in Nora. Best friends with his ex, he tries to remind his parents who quickly ditch him there with Nora. They spend the rest of the night having a goid time getting to know each other and Nora gets to see a different side of him that never showed through when he was married to her friend.

Before the night is over they end up at het place unable to resist the attraction they have for one another. But how will they feel in the morning?

🎧 Cooper and Nora 🎧

Short, funny and steamy. Reads like a Christmas prequel to a full-length novel. Teddy Hamilton is wonderful. First time listening to Laurie West.

Shaping up to be great. But under 3 hrs!

Shaping up to be a good story. It just gets going, then a premature, unsatisfactory finish. What a let down, and con..
Teddy and Laura are great, as usual. But I feel robbed.
It’s more like an essay than a book.

Very Enjoyable

Really enjoyed this story…or introduction to the story to come. Such relatable characters especially the wing parents!! 🤣 I’ve threatened my sons since early teens that I will be their wing mum!

Looking forward to the next instalment of this story.
