An excellent adventure performed by R. C. Bray

Author Nathan Hystad has written another creepy adventure. There are parts that remind me of The Stand, only because people meet up with other people with a similar destination. Don't let that confuse you, it's nothing like The Stand.
As with other writings by this author, he will keep you reading. If you enjoy Audible books, The Other Place is performed by the great R. C. Bray.

Amazing

This is the first time I have ever left a review on a book. I bought this 24 hours ago and just finished it. I couldn't stop listening!

Great story; Excellent narration

I didn’t have a credit to spare or i would have pre-ordered book 2 in the seri. Loved this book. It takes it a little while to get going as all the main characters are introduced, but then the pace quickens. Strong storyline that wraps up very satisfactorily while opening a door to book 2. Narration is top-notch. RC Bray is one of the best, especially when it comes to sci-fi. He has a gift.

Underdeveloped characters, superficial plot

I'm at a loss as to why so many people gave this book such a high rating. The only thing I can figure is that many people quit reading/listening, never finished the book, and thus didn't rate it. The story is not a bad one, but it is so superficial, across all aspects of the book and plot that I lost interest by the time I was halfway through.

Interesting story with a few glaring holes. Definitely gets you in and I’ll be listening to the next instalment.

Good Story

Good storyline and pretty easy to follow. A little scattered building characters mostly - so you know there’s another book coming. The BEST part of this is RC BRAY. I swear the man is the “Hit Parade Maker” for any writer out there. Worth every cent he’s paid - could listen to him all the time and him being the narrator actually determines what I buy from Audible.

Great Listen

I love Nathan's writing and this story is full of detailed characters and a page turning (ear turning ???) storyline.

RC Bray narrates it extremely well providing depth to these characters.

Highly recommend!

Such a great book!

Had me hanging on to find out what was going to happen. Great characters, detailed but not to much.
Small snippets of information to work with without giving anything away and yet another knock out from R C Bray!

erm...Gerrard is a knob...

not feeling that name at all...maybe it's a personal dig at a previous review...
However it's a fantastic book with a trio of adventures brought together with masterful writing...
I highly recommend CAST UNDER AN ALIEN SUN by OLAN THORENSEN...

Quite the adventure

I don’t think this book has any swearing in, which is unusual for science fiction with quite a lot of horror. But it worked. No need for the swearing. I wasn’t quite sure if this book was great, it was good enough as an adventure, just a bit all over the place. I guess that means it’s got twists and turns, but really it’s confusing. And annoying with there being so many unanswered questions that are blatantly ignored. I’m not sure about the prophetic dreams either. It’s like throwing a tarot card reader into an alien science fiction story, it just doesn’t work for me. I think I’ll just treat this as one adventure without going onto the next in the series. This one had a tidy enough ending. That’s good at least.

Very slow

A very slow story with a predictable plot. I don’t think I will be reading the sequel. The performance of R C Bray was, as always, very good but didn’t fix the problems of the plot and pace

Proof-listemer needed

The story was okay, a bit on the apocalyptic side for my taste. But I want to talk about RC Bray's performance, this one stood out, and not in a good way. Now I know that as a professional narrator you obviously can't read for like 15 hours without making a single mistake, but this book was RIDDLED with them, and I'm surprised that nobody picked them up. "FUO" instead of UFO early on... Chrissy's quote near the end "that was her dream in my name", and in the epilogue alone were two mistakes close to one another - "viewed the FITTAGE" instead of footage, and '"Well Done" said the figure in the dark corner' was repeated twice.
It's like someone didn't actually do a full listen through of the story to spot these errors before releasing it. do not really RC Bray's fault, but the producer perhaps.
