Great resource!

Living with PCOS sucks, but knowledge helps. As with most physical problems, diet is huge for this. However, this book is more of a review of options than an actual prescribed diet. She doesn’t tell you WHAT to eat, exactly; she tells you how diet effects PCOS and looks at several options (keto, vegan, etc) and their potential impact. I actually found that REALLY helpful as my preferences and lifestyle sometimes fluxuate for certain seasons and it’s helpful to understand. Each woman with PCOS will know her own preferences and how active/busy she is, and frankly how much work she’s really willing to put into her own self care. For me, it’s great to have a tool to empower my own choices, rather than some stranger’s instruction manual. There are already plenty of books for that.

So Helpful!

This audio book gave so much insight into my PCOS and how to handle it! I was diagnosed at 14 years old in 2004 when PCOS was a newer diagnosis and bc of that I’ve never really had guidance on how to manage my symptoms! I am now 30 years old 100lbs overweight with all symptoms associated with PCOS and I’m grateful to have found this audiobook that gave me all the information needed to start my recovery journey!

Lots of great dietary tips!

This audiobook was given to me for free for my honest opinion. I actually already read this in Kindle format but it was still the same information. I was never aware that you could change your diet to help certain symptoms of PCOS. If there was a diet, I never knew about it.

I did, in fact, try some of the dietary changes suggested in this book but I don't think I tried some of them for long enough to see results. For example, I was trying to eat walnuts every day. That was hard because walnuts are not my favorite but they increased sex hormone binding globulin (SHBG) so I thought I would give it a try. It did not last long.

However, I did start taking a multivitamin, Vitamin D and Fish Oil supplements and just doing that little bit has helped me feel better overall. I am already pretty active, I work out between 1 and 4 hours any given day of the week so that left changing some of my eating habits. I hope to continue with some of these dietary changes which will, hopefully, help aleast suppress some of the symptoms of PCOS.

Great read & listen- gives you the tools and plants the seeds to empower you to change your lifestyle

Would highly recommend it is worth the listen. Wish I would’ve listened when I was younger so I could make the lifestyle changes now but happy I came across this book. You’ll takeaway information that’ll help you in your journey.

Good Read
